Tinder isn't the best place to look for a serious relationship. In a recent case, a Bengaluru-guy got arrested a one night stand on Tinder.

When Tinder was first launched, the company marketed the app as a way for people to meet and form relationships. Although it is still technically true, users mostly use the app to look for one night stands.
According to a Bangalore Mirror’s report, Meera (her real name has been changed for privacy reason), a Bengaluru-techie, has filed an FIR against her ex-partner.
Meera met 29-year-old Rama through Tinder and got on well with each other. The two had sex after one month of dating. The problem is right after that, Rama was ready to cut off the relationship. Unfortunately, Meera didn’t want that.

The next day, Mara told Rama that she wanted to marry him. However, Rama replied by saying a long-term commitment wasn’t something he was looking for. So he wanted to break up instead. It is not clear whether there was some kind of misunderstanding between them or if they had discussed commitments when they first started dating. Or maybe Rama was just saying whatever needed to get into bed with her.
Anyway, Meera was not happy about it. She felt like Rama had coerced her into having sexual intimacy with him. Over the next week, Meera tried to convince him by calling and asking him to think about his decision again. That was when Rama blocked her on WhatsApp.
Irritated, on June 3, Meera filed a complaint to the police, stating she had been taken advantage of by Rama. As the police are investigating the case, he has been arrested.
The problem is, more often than not, dating apps are exploited to take advantage of women. Faking a Tinder profile is very easy as Facebook profile verification is for sure not the most secure method.
A better solution would be for moderators of Tinder to focus more on reports. Tinder is known for having a pretty bad record of still active serial rapists and abusers. There are cases when women reported these sorts of people and got banned themselves.
So, it’s best that you don’t put a lot of expectation on Tinder, either on finding people looking for serious relationships or the app keeping you safe. The truth is you have to look out for yourself.
