9YO Girl Gets To Visit The Silicon Valley For Developing India's First Anti-Bullying App

In her efforts to tackle bullying, nine-year-old Meaidaibahum Majaw from Meghalaya has developed the country’s first anti-bullying app.

After a video of a nine-year-old boy bullied because of dwarfism went viral online, people realize how serious bullying can be. Bullying isn’t something strange for Indian students. And in her efforts to tackle that, nine-year-old Meaidaibahum Majaw from Meghalaya has developed the country’s first anti-bullying app.
Majaw is a Class IV student in Shillong has been chosen by White Hat Junior to be one of the 12 winners who get to visit the Silicon Valley.

White Hat Junior is an online portal that teaches children basic coding. They posted on their Twitter account congratulating Majaw on her achievement.
The app that Majaw developed would allow children and students to send an alert to their parents, teachers, and report to authorities about their bullies anonymously. She started using the online portal since September last year. And the app only took her three months to develop. And if everything goes according to plan, the app will be available on Google’s Play Store.

Majaw, who will get to meet many famous people in the Silicon Valley this May, might be the youngest entrepreneur of Northeast. She will stand in front of the audience to present her application.
Conrad Sangma, Meghalaya Chief Minister, was so impressed by the young girl’s achievement that he posted a tweet on his Twitter account.
The 9-year-old girl had received as appreciation certificate and memento from NP Nishank, Union Human Resources Development Minister.
