Continuing with Vivo V20 details, it’s powered by the Snapdragon 720G chip from Qualcomm, this is an octa-core processor consisting of dual 2.3GHz cores and six 1.8GHz cores. The CPU is paired with the Adreno 618 GPU for graphics power. The phone runs on Android 11 out of the box. Regarding storage, the Vivo V20 comes with 8GB of RAM and two memory options, including 128GB and 256GB.

When it comes to photography hardware, you will get four cameras in total. On the front, there is a single 44MP lens with HDR mode that allows for recording video at 4K or 1080p resolution and 30 fps. Vivo V20 reviews

Design

Overall, this smartphone looks gorgeous with a slim body and a reasonable weight. The Sunset Melody color is a beat too flashy but you can always opt for the other colors. The device has a layered camera module, which is a good way to hide the bump.

Wrapping the sides of the phone is a polycarbonate frame and the back is protected with an actual glass panel. The buttons are all made of metal and the power button features a texture to make it easier to find. On the bottom side, there is a USB-C port, a headphone jack, and a speaker.

On the front, Vivo uses a dewdrop notch, which has become outdated for a phone style. The screen gets protection from Schott Xensation 3D glass. The fingerprint reader under the display is fast and snappy.

Display

The display of the Vivo V20 is good with high contrast and deep black. Though it doesn’t have a high refresh rate, it delivers snappy animations and UI transitions.

Users can change the color temperature to change the saturation on the screen, either oversaturated a bit or accurate colors. They can also opt for the always-on display mode if they want. The phone also supports DC Dimming to avoid flicker if you use it in a low-light environment.

Camera

The camera performance must be one of the advantages this phone has over its rivals. The ream lenses take great photos in proper lighting, both outdoors and indoors. The phone also shares the same image processing software as the X50 to produce high-quality images. With proper lighting, the images show natural colors and a lot of details. The camera locks focus quickly as well.

When used under artificial light and indoors, the camera still takes great photos compared with other models in the same price segment. You can use the Night mode for both dark environments and improper indoor lighting to enhance image texture, details, white balance, as well as contrast. Using the Night mode will involve a tiny delay in shuttering but it’s worth it.

When it comes to portrait shooting, the camera detects the edges of the subject effectively. The wide-angle shots are decent too.

Meanwhile, the front camera comes with a bunch of filters, style modes, and beautification options to generate the best selfies for you. It does a good job of tracking eye movements, helping keep the subject in focus.

Performance

The overall performance, especially in image processing and gaming, is a bit slower than that of flagship phones. Remember that this is not a gaming phone. The operating system offers many useful features, a convenient dashboard, notification history, among others.

Battery

The 4000mAh is the average capacity for smartphone batteries these days, but the one packed in the Vivo V20 seems to work better than expectations. This is probably thanks to the optimizations coming with Android 11.

Users of this phone will get at least 9 hours of screen time. With 33W fast charging support, you can fully recharge the battery within 1.5 hours.
