Samsung F41 launch date in India is October 8. The handset is the first product of the South Korean giant in the Galaxy F series, which is touted to focus on delivering great camera quality. The phone is positioned in a competitive segment with many products from OPPO, Redmi, Poco, Realme, and even Samsung's Galaxy M series. So can the F41 be able to compete? Is this the phone you should buy? Let’s take a look at our Samsung F41 review.
The Samsung F41 price in India is Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model while the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model is retailed at Rs. 17,999. The first sale of this phone is up on October 16 during Flipkart’s Big Billion Days Sale 2020. Green, Blue, and Black are three color variants of this Samsung smartphone. Samsung F41 amazon price is not available since the phone is exclusively up for sales on Flipkart. During the upcoming Big Billion Days 2020 sale, you will have the opportunity to purchase this phone at Rs. 13,999.
Samsung F41: Design & Display
When you unpack the F41’s box, you'll find a smartphone, a 15W charger, a USB Type-A to Type-C cable, documentation, and a SIM removal tool.
Looking at the Samsung F41, you will immediately think of the Galaxy M31. The new gradient color on the glossy polycarbonate back makes the F41 look more appealing, but other than that, things like the rear camera cluster, fingerprint sensor, and curved edges look identical on both phones.
The F41 is very comfortable to use and convenient to hold in hands. That's really impressive, considering the fact that the phone has a huge 6,000 mAh battery inside. In addition, there are a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB Type-C charging port, and a dedicated microSD card slot on the F41.
The device comes in three color options, including Fusion Black, Fusion Blue, and Fusion Green. The one you are seeing in this review is a Fusion Black color version with a sparkling gradient effect on the back that looks so appealing.
Samsung F41 has a Super AMOLED screen with a size of 6.4 inches, Full HD + resolution, a layer of Gorilla Glass 3, and a maximum brightness of 420 nits. It also has DRM L1 Widevine certification, which is necessary for HD streaming. F41's display is sharp, vibrant, and provides a comfortable viewing experience. The side bezels of the F41 are relatively standard for its segment, except for the bottom, which is a bit too thick, in my opinion.
Samsung F41: Performance
Moving to the performance department, Samsung continues to use its Exynos 9611 chipset on the F41 just like many of its phones in the price range of under Rs. 20,000. You might be familiar with this Samsung f41 processor. It is built on the 10nm process and is not famous for its gaming performance. It is only suitable for light to medium usage.
Paired with the chipset are 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64/128GB of storage. Despite using a mediocre chipset, the Android 10-based One UI is greatly optimized, so the F41 still performs pretty smoothly. However, it is still way behind the Qualcomm or MediaTek counterparts.
The One UI 2.0 is great, but you need to be aware of the bloatware. At the initial setup process, you should pay attention to uncheck the suggested apps, marketing push notification, and lock screen posters. You can also uninstall most of the third-party apps.
So, overall, the software and performance are pretty similar to those of other Samsung’s affordable phones launched this year.
Samsung F41: Camera & Battery life
The Samsung Galaxy M41 has three rear cameras and a 32MP selfie camera similar to the Galaxy M31. The rear camera system consists of a 64MP primary camera (still a Samsung GM1 sensor), an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor. Samsung's camera app offers a variety of features such as portrait mode, Live Focus, custom filters, UHD video recording, Super Slo-mo, Hyper-Lapse, and Super Steady image stabilization when shooting from the ultra-wide-angle camera.
The most notable feature of the Samsung F41 is the massive 6,000 mAh battery, providing more than a day and a half of battery life in just a single charge. However, 15W charging is quite slow by today's standards, and it takes about 2.5 hours to fully charge its massive battery. Additionally, the F41 has mono speakers with Dolby Atmos support and it offers an average result, so don’t expect too much about it.
Samsung F41 review: Verdict
Overall, even though the Samsung F41 is the first phone in a new series, it is still pretty much the same as the Galaxy M31 with some small changes. I guess it is because the Galaxy M series has been a huge success in India, and Samsung wants to capitalize on that.
The device comes with a Super AMOLED display for a reasonable price. The 6,000mAh battery, tasteful software are also two great things about this phone. However, its performance is mediocre while its camera performance is good for the price range, but not for a 'camera-centric' smartphone.
The Galaxy F41 offers an AMOLED screen for a very affordable price, has a very assuring 6000mAh battery capacity, a tasteful software, and, as always, will also benefit from Samsung branding.
