Realme 5i Hands-On: Quad Cameras, 5,000mAh Battery, Priced in India At Rs. 11,000

The Realme 5i is a watered-down version of the Realme 5 and it also carries quad rear cameras, 5,000mAh battery, and a Snapdragon 665 SoC.

Following the successful launch of Realme 5, 5 Pro in August along with the recent Realme 5s, Oppo's sub-brand Realme continues to introduce new members of the 5 Series, the Realme 5i. Recently, the brand announced that the series reached over 5.5 million units sold.

In terms of appearance, the Realme 5i still owns the same design with other phones in the series with a quad-camera cluster located in the left corner and a fingerprint sensor in the center.

The biggest difference and it is easy to recognize that the back is not equipped with a diamond-shaped design like its siblings. Instead, the phone has a rough plastic back with the “Sunlight” pattern - a wavy texture on the rear. This can be seen as a watered-down version of the Realme 5.

The device still uses a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a waterdrop design, HD + resolution, 20: 9 ratio, and it accounts for 89% of the front panel.

The rear camera cluster of the phone remains unchanged. It still includes a 12MP main camera with f / 1.8 aperture, an 8MP super-wide camera with 119 degrees field of view, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.

However, the Realme 5i's selfie camera has been reduced to only 8MP, not 13MP like the standard version.

The device still uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 AIE processor (11 nm process), four of which are 2.0 GHz Kryo 260 Gold and the other four are 1.8 GHz Kryo 260 Silver. Software-wise, it ships with Color OS 6 pre-installed, which is based on Android 9.0 Pie. It will come in two versions - 3GB RAM / 32GB storage and 4GB RAM / 64GB storage.

In addition, the device will use a beefy 4,000mAh battery with a micro-USB charging port but it is not equipped with VOOC fast charging.
