The Oppo A9 2020 features a beautiful design for its price range, but it still comes with a decent specifications that will not disappoint you.

Unlike the F or new Reno series, Oppo A series focuses on the affordable segment with a better price. With Oppo A9 2020, Oppo made a stronger impression with the redesigned back, which is accompanied by a significant upgrade in the hardware configuration.

First, you can see that the packaging of the phone is similar to other Oppo devices.

The box has 3 compartments containing the phone, a charger, a Type-C cable, and earphones.

Oppo A9 2020 is available in Jade Green and Purple colors with a gradient finish. The first impression is that the colors are very beautiful, the jade green version that we hold in hand has a little gradient effect, but it is very glossy and has wavy lines when changing the viewing angle.

The camera module and Oppo line are put in a similar position to that of its Reno siblings.

The line DESIGNED FOR A-SERIES is put in the same position as the line DESIGNED BY OPPO in Reno phone.

The edge of the device has a quite beautiful design with subtle light cuts, making a difference compared to other products in the same segment.

The rear camera setup is quite impressive with 4 cameras. Accordingly, 3 cameras are aligned in the center, including a 48MP f/1.7 primary camera, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and a camera coupled with a single camera put on the right that has monochrome and artistic portraits mode.

Oppo A9 2020 still has a rear fingerprint sensor put below the camera setup. When testing, we found the unlocking speed of the sensor is decently fast.

The A9 2020 sports a fairly spacious 6.5-inch display. As the handset belongs to the affordable segment, there won't be as many breakthroughs in screen design as in the Reno smartphones. For example, this screen still features dewdrop notch rather than a full-view design with a pop-up selfie camera.

The device uses IPS LCD panel with a moderate brightness and a quite wide viewing angle, but its resolution is only HD+.

The bottom bezel is still thick so the overall look is not really balanced.

In terms of hardware, the Oppo A9 2020 packs up to 8GB of RAM, accompanied by a Snapdragon 665 SoC with the support for 4K video recording and slow-motion FullHD recording at 120fps, which is usually only found in upper mid-range devices.

The internal memory is offered up to 128GB, expandable via an additional memory card slot. Accordingly, users can comfortably store music and movies to enjoy anywhere with the 6.5-inch screen.

Additionally, Oppo still keeps the 3.5mm headphone port for the A9 2020, in addition to USB-C charging port. The device is packed with a beefy 5,000 mAh battery without fast charging technology like its higher-end models, so users can only power the phone with the 5V-2A charger.
