HMD Global has recently introduced Nokia 2720 Flip phone this month, which is considered HMD’s second big attempt at bringing back the trend of flip phones. Nokia 2720 Flip is the successor to the Nokia Fold launched way back in 2009. The phone is expected to cost around Rs. 7,000 in the Indian market. Let’s spend time with this entry-level flip phone to see what interesting features it offers!
Nokia 2720 Flip: Unboxing
This is the retail box of the Nokia 2720 Flip, which is covered in a mica plastic filler and we can see the name 'Nokia 2720 Flip' from the outside.
The sides of the box show the product name, and product image while the bottom has configurations of the phone.
The Nokia 2720 Flip is completely refreshed, so its design looks more beautiful and users can flexibly open and flip the phone with one hand.
The body of the phone is only made of plastic.
In addition to having a clamshell design, there is also another display on the external cover of the phone for users to check the time, date, and call. Under the display is an imprinted Nokia logo.
The Nokia 2720 Flip version that I hold on my hand has a luxurious, matte black look. The design of the device looks seamless and fits in the palm of the hands.
The left side of the Nokia 2720 Flip is a 3.5mm headphone jack and a power button. You can press the power button to see the time right on the extra display.
The right side is the volume button which is in black as well.
The bottom of the device is a micro-USB port.
At the top is a black hinge of the phone.
Nokia 2720 Flip: Specifications
When opened, the phone flaunts a 2.8-inch TFT screen and it is slightly curved rather than perfectly aligned with the keyboard.
The display quality is acceptable, however, when I look at this screen, at first I was a bit uncomfortable because I was used to using the screen with high resolution.
An interesting point is that the hinge at the top will be covered when opening the phone, which is a plus point in the design of the handset.
Right below this screen are navigation keys, call button, back button, and familiar home button. The keyboard is relatively large for convenient operation. Above the screen is a speaker strip with the line Nokia.
The phone still runs KaiOS operating system. In addition to serving the needs of calling, users can install other apps like Facebook, Google Maps, Google Assistant and even YouTube.
The back is covered with a glossy plastic with a diagonally-beveled upper part. The camera cluster is concave in and comes with an LED flash. This camera has a resolution of 2MP.
Since this is just a feature phone, so don't expect too much from its camera.
The battery of the Nokia 2720 Flip is removable, and when you disassemble the phone, you will see dual-SIM card slots with 4G network support. One of my favorite things about the phone is that we can use it as a Wifi hotspot for smartphones!
The Nokia 2720 Flip is powered by a Snapdragon 205, coupled with 512RAM and 4G internal storage, which is further expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. The phone’s battery has a capacity of 1,500 mAh.
Conclusion
Overall, the Nokia 2720 Flip is a fancy, feature phone that's designed for daily calling and Wifi hotspot use.
Perhaps this phone is for people who love Nokia products and nostalgic for the past of old Nokia products. In its price range, this product does not have many outstanding highlights.
