Xiaomi Trolls Huawei By Saying That Its Phones Can...Use Google Apps

Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi Mi 10 smartphones. And though it's not as big of a phone maker as Huawei, it took its chance to troll the Chinese rival.

Recently, Xiaomi launched the Mi 10 smartphones, including the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro. These smartphones will join the competition with several other powerful handsets. Competitors include the P40 series from Huawei that was launched not long ago.

However, Xiaomi has a big competitive advantage over Huawei, which is obviously the inclusion of Google apps and services. The Chinese firm didn’t waste a chance to show off this advantage.
The version of the Mi 10 Pro launched in Europe comes with an inscription saying “with easy access to the Google apps you use most.” While this doesn’t seem like a specification worth mentioned for an Android phone, it’s a friendly (and sarcastically) reminder for European consumers that Xiaomi phones have something Huawei rivals don’t.

Brands trolling each other is nothing new in the smartphone market, in which a phone maker takes a dig at something its rival lacks or performs poorly at. For example, when Apple released the iPhone lineup with no support for higher screen refresh rates, OnePlus took the chance to troll the iPhone maker.
Meanwhile, since Huawei lost access to Google services and apps last year, this is the first time a rival’s taken the dig at it.

Like Huawei Mate 30 Pro, which came out in 2019, the Huawei P40 smartphones don’t have Google apps and services. Instead of the Play Store, these premium handsets come with the Huawei AppGallery. And they are priced the same as the Xiaomi Mi 10 smartphones.
Recently, Xiaomi became the world’s third-largest phone maker, and the challenges Huawei is facing may just help Xiaomi boost its business further.
