In the context of the smartphone market is gradually becoming saturated in all segments, many manufacturers have begun to shift to market share of gaming devices. Among gaming brands, the Xiaomi's Black Shark series is one of the famous names besides ROG Phone or Razer Phone. The third generation of the series, the Black Shark 2, has also recently been released, and the noticeable change in the design of the device comes from the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Even so, recent reports have said Xiaomi may be considering bringing the 3.5mm headphone jack back into the next generation Black Shark phones, based on the gamers’ need.
Of course, the previous version was Black Shark Helo, an upgrade model of the first-generation phone on the series also removed the headphone jack. It is unclear why Xiaomi left one of these essential features, especially for an entertainment-focused device like the Black Shark. Owning a 3.5mm headphone jack will still provide a better entertainment experience than using a wireless headset or using the charging port as a headset.
To recall, the gaming-centric Black Shark 2 was recently launched in the Chinese market in March this year. The handset is powered by the most powerful Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with 12GB of RAM. Other key highlights of the handset include the new Liquid Cooling 3 tech for better heat dispersion. The Indian launch of this gaming-centric is not yet revealed it was teased to come soon.
