In the 10th-anniversary event held in China, Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra - an upgraded-model of the standard Mi 10.
This phone seems to be born to compete with other flagships in the market, including the Huawei P40 Pro Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. With an overall average score of 130, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra beat the Huawei P40 Pro, which was the world's best camera smartphone before its launch.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra is equipped with a system of four vertically arranged cameras on the back. The rear camera cluster of the device includes a 48MP f / 1.85 main sensor, a 20MP f / 2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera, a 48MP periscope camera with 10x optical zoom and 120x hybrid zoom, and a 12MP depth sensor for portrait photography.
According to DxOMark, the camera on Mi 10 Ultra has very good quality, scoring an average score of 130, including 142 points for photo and 106 points for video. With such a high score, the phone is currently leading the DxOMark camera phone ranking, beating the previous champion Huawei P40 Pro.
Speaking of photography, the Mi 10 Ultra is pretty much praised for its color reproduction and good exposure. The zoomed images taken by the phone still retain a high level of detail. In addition, it also offers the ability to capture extremely impressive bokeh images.
The ultra-wide-angle camera is also one of the highlights of the Mi 10 Ultra, with a viewing angle of up to 128 degrees - the widest at the moment. Thanks to that, it also does better in distortion and noise control than the P40 Pro. On the other hand, the camera is also capable of taking quite impressive low-light photos, retaining good details, and less noise.
In addition to the photography capabilities, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra also does a great job when it comes to video recording. The phone can record 4K 60fps and 8K 30fps videos. According to DxOMark, the video captured from the Mi 10 Ultra has good quality, wide dynamic range, great colors, fast autofocus, and effective stabilization.
For a smartphone maker struggling to perfect the camera, Xiaomi has slowly climbed to the first place in the DxOMark ranking after years of development. The Mi 10 Ultra is a prime example, showing that the company's efforts over the years might have finally paid off.
