You can now buy Xiaomi smartphones through a machine. On May 13, Xiaomi introduced a new solution which is Mi Express Kiosks vending machines to sell its phones in the Indian offline market. These machines will help customers buy Xiaomi phones and accessories like how they buy food items in various locations.

Accordingly, Xiaomi India has become the first phone marker to apply this retail model to sell its smartphones. As per Xiaomi India in its press statement, the company has studied and developed all the technology that equips Mi Express Kiosks and it also extends the brand commitment of the company in the offline market for India.
Xiaomi stated in the statement:

Xiaomi’s vending machines will accept all types of payments such as UPI, debit cards, credit cards, and cash. In the coming time, the company will be setting up these vending machines throughout metro cities in the public regions with bigger footfall like shopping malls, airports, metro stations, and tech parks.
According to Xiaomi’s press statement, with the launch of these vending machines, Xiaomi has once again developed a groundbreaking New Retail strategy to directly reach out to the customers, which eliminates the cost and operational inefficiencies for the customers. This allows the company to offer the latest phones to Mi Fans at honest prices, like that of Mi.com and Mi Homes.
Additionally, the brand also states that it intends to install more vending machines in the near future and expands its retail plan gradually in more cities in India. Besides, customers can easily access to the information of the Mi Express Kiosks set up across metro cities on mi.com.
