Xiaomi Is Reportedly The Top Smartphone Brand In India In Q3 2018

According to the Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker of the International Data Corporation (IDC), a quarterly chart of the biggest smartphone brands in the Indian market has been in the public eye.  There were 42.6 million smartphones shipped to India in the third quarter of this year. Compared to that of the same period last year, the growth in 2018 increased by 9.1%.

5. Oppo

Oppo sits on the fifth position in this list due to its year-on-year decline of 7.1%. The Chinese phone manufacturer reportedly lacks the requisite promotional activities as well as consumer schemes and channels to attract users. That’s why Oppo has lost its ground in the Indian smartphone market. Additionally, F9 and F9 Pro – the two latest handsets by Oppo didn’t get as much attention as expected.

4. Micromax

In terms of shipments, the annual growth of Micromax reached 77.3% and became the highest during Q3, 2018. Micromax’s Indian market reached 2.9 million-unit shipments, 1.3 million more than those of last year. However, IDE doesn’t highly appreciate the potential of its shipments in the Q4, 2018.

3. Vivo

Vivo ranked at the third position in the top 5 smartphone brands in India in Q3, 2018 and occupied 10% of the Indian market share. The Y-o-Y shipments reached 35.4%. In contrary to Oppo, Vivo has paid much attention to develop their promotional activities, schemes for channel partner, and marketing.

2. Samsung

As the most famous technology company in South Korean, Samsung gets the second position with a 22.6% share in the Indian market. During Quarter 3, 2018, this company has the Y-o-Y growth in terms of shipments at 4.8%.

1. Xiaomi

One more smartphone brand coming from China appears in this list. That is Xiaomi – the phone-maker is ranked at the first position in the Indian market. Xiaomi reached an annual growth of 27% in the Quarter 3, 2018 with 11.7 million-unit shipments and 27.3% share.
