Vivo Z5x Unveiled: Hole-Punch Display, Snapdragon 710 SoC & Triple Rear Cameras

After quite a few leaks and teasers from the company, Vivo finally unveils Vivo Z5X which is its first smartphone with a hole-punch display. Other highlights of the phone include a Snapdragon 710 SoC, an edge-to-edge display, and triple rear cameras.

Vivo Z5x: Price
The base variant with 4GB of RAM + 64GB storage is priced at CNY 1,398 (around Rs. 14,100). The two higher options with 6GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage are priced at CNY 1,498 (around Rs. 15,100) and CNY 1,698 (around 17,100), respectively. Vivo also offers an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage for CNY 1,998 (around Rs. 20,100). It is already available for pre-ordering in China and will go on sale from 1 June.

The availability and price of the phone for the Indian market are still unknown for now.
Vivo Z5x: Specs & Features
The handset sports a 6.53-inch FHD+ display hole-punch on the top left corner and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Thanks to the hole-punch design, the handset achieves 90.77% screen-to-body ratio. Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 710 SoC built on the 10nm processor, paired with 4/6/8GB of RAM and 64/128GB of storage. It’s also equipped with some features like AI Turbo, Multi Turbo, Game Turbo, Cooling Turbo, and more.

In terms of camera, the handset features a triple rear camera system stacked vertically. The setup includes a 16MP main sensor with f/1.78 aperture, a secondary 8MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture and a third 8MP f/2.4 depth sensor. Up front, there is a 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera housed on a small cut-out. The cameras are also supported by features like AR shoot, AI beauty, and more.
In terms of software, it ships with Vivo’s Funtouch OS v9.0 which is based on Android 9.0 Pie. It also has a dedicated button to activate Vivo’s Jovi AI personal assistant. Fueling the phone is a monstrous 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W Dual-Engine fast charging. For security, there is a fingerprint scanner at the back.
