Vivo has trademarked VivoX moniker which is expected to be the name for the button-less and port-less Vivo APEX 2019 concept phone.

Vivo demonstrated the Vivo APEX 2019 concept smartphone with no button and port in China at the beginning of this year. According to the latest news from LetsGoDigital, Vivo has trademarked the name VivoX with EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office). It remains to be seen whether the Vivo APEX 2019 bear this name.

It is known that Düsseldorf-based Rolim, Mietzel, Wohlnick & Calheiros LLP filed for the trademark of the name VivoX.  Previously, this firm also trademarked Vivo NEX moniker. The Vivo NEX phone was unveiled 2 months after the firm trademarked its name with EUIPO.

As per the filing, Vivo registered the phone’s logo as well in addition to its name. And the logo reveals that VivoX moniker could be the next premium phone’s name from the brand. EUIPO classifies the name as Class 9 which have phones, covers for “smartphones, battery chargers, wireless earbuds.”

The brand is famous for introducing advanced techs on its phones. Last year, it had unveiled the Vivo X20 Plus UD phone. This made Vivo be the first phone maker to introduce a handset with an on-screen fingerprint sensor. In addition, Vivo also impressed the phone industry by unveiling Vivo NEX, one of the phones with no notch and bezels. And by late 2018, the brand may launch the Vivo NEX Dual Display integrated top-end specifications and dual screens. At the recent MWC event in Shanghai, it showcased the Vivo Super FlashCharge 120W tech. In addition, the brand plans to launch the first 5G smartphone in the third quarter of this year. Therefore, the VivoX phone may come with various advanced features at launch.

In early 2018, Vivo showcased Vivo APEX concept model with no bezels and it also introduced the phone’s commercial version as the Vivo NEX powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC with a pop-up sensor in the middle of 2018. Therefore, the Chinese phone maker is tipped to launch a commercial edition of its APEX 2019 concept smartphone in 2019. It remains unknown whether it will bear VivoX moniker.

According to the latest reports, the brand has also been on the track of launching its own foldable smartphone. And it probably uses VivoX moniker for its foldable device or a different handset. Let’s stay tuned for further information in the coming time.
