Vivo S5 With Snapdragon 712 & Quad Rear Cameras Goes Official

The Vivo S5 comes with a quad rear camera setup, Snapdragon 712 SoC, a 32MP selfie camera, and a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ panel as highlights.

Vivo S5 finally goes official in China as expected. The device comes with a new camera design at its back. There is a diamond-shaped camera cluster that includes a total of four cameras. It also has a Super AMOLED panel with a punch-hole for a 32MP selfie camera and an 8th-gen in-display fingerprint reader for biometric security. The brand packs a 4,100mAh battery inside the phone to keep it running.

The handset’s price in China is CNY 2,698 (roughly Rs. 27,600) for the variant with 8GB RAM / 128GB storage. The price goes up to CNY 2,990 (roughly Rs. 30,700) for the model with 8GB RAM / 256GB storage. You can get one in Phantom Blue, Star Black, or Ice White hues. It is already available for pre-ordering in the country. If you want to straight up buy it, you will have to wait one more week, 22 November. The international launch for this phone is still unknown at the moment.

The new Vivo S5 rocks a 6.44” Super AMOLED panel with Full-HD+ resolution, HDR10 support, and Eye Comfort mode certified by TÜV Rheinland. Ticking at its core is a Snapdragon 712 chipset alongside 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of storage (expandable up to 128GB with a microSD card). In terms of software, it ships with Android 9 Pie pre-loaded along with Vivo’s FunTouchOS interface atop.

In terms of camera, it sports a quad camera lens setup on the rear, including a 48MP main sensor, a 5MP depth-sensing camera, a 2MP dedicated macro camera and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter. On the front, it features a 32MP shooter for taking selfie shots. It draws power from a 4,100 mAh battery, which can be quickly charged with the company’s 22.5W Dual-Engine quick charging technology. For security, the brand equips it with an 8th-gen in-display fingerprint reader. Connectivity features include Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, GPS, and dual-band Wi-Fi.
