It is now widely known that Xiaomi Redmi, which has been known for making affordable mobile phones, is working on a flagship powered by the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 chipset. While the handset was first rumored to launch under the name ‘Redmi X’, Redmi’s GM Lu Weibing denied the name in a recent Weibo post and said that the phone would come with a better name. However, we believe that one of the reasons Redmi wants to avoid naming the phone Redmi X is because Realme is also all set to launch a new handset called Realme X. The name might be easily confused between the Redmi X name, but which name will Redmi use for this upcoming smartphone?
It seems like Redmi will use the name Redmi K20 Pro, according to a new leak in Chinese microblogging Weibo. While this new name Redmi K20 Pro is not confirmed yet, a new photo of the cover of the phone’s display has just surfaced online, giving us some key details about the phone which is in line what we have seen earlier about this phone.
As you can see on the photo, the purported Redmi K20 Pro will pack a 6.39-inch AMOLED panel. There is no notch on the cover suggesting that the handset will have a full-screen display, thanks to the pop-up selfie camera. Powering the phone will be the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Up front, it suggests that the device will have a 20MP AI pop-up selfie camera. At the back, it will come with triple cameras, including a 48MP primary camera with a super wide-angle lens. It will be fueled by a large 4,000 mAh battery under the hood.
This new leak further adds to the large base of leaks and rumors surrounding this first Redmi flagship which might be called Redmi K20 Pro. Hopefully, there will be more reliable information about this phone coming out. Realme is also set to launch two new Realme X smartphones that might be the real threats to Redmi on 15 May in its home market.
