The $750 iPhone XR Is Faster Than Samsung’s $1000 Finest Phone

The iPhone XR is not only cheaper but also 25% faster than Samsung's best phone. This is also the first time Apple puts its hardware in comparison.

Although the iPhone XR has just been on sale for one week, the early indications show that Apple is going to reveal some secrets. The new iPhone may not seem like a big hit like the XS and XS Max before; yet, with its price $250 lower than the cheapest XS, and still has almost the same features and benefits, it’s quite a bargain in comparison with other iPhones.

And that’s why, the iPhone XR may be the most crucial release from Apple in the smartphone market in 2018, and it’s so outstanding that Android phones cannot compete.

In spite of $749 cost, the iPhone XR feature A12 Bionic chip which out performs the iPhone XS, making it smoking fast. It is actually so fast it seems to run approximately 25 percent faster than Samsung’s best Android phone.

Oh well, Apple always promotes its phones emphasizing on software and additional features or security, it hardly talks about its hardware as a competitive advantage, which is more like something Samsung would do.

However, this time, Apple is putting its XR’s hardware on a scale with Samsung’s phone. Though we do not know what exactly Apple aims at when doing this, let’s first take a look and make a little hardware comparison.

The phone that we mentioned here is the Galaxy Note 9 that features Geekbench 4 multi-core and single core scores of 8765 and 2442, relatively. The phone is initially sold at $999, which is $250 more expensive than Apple’s XR.

The Galaxy S9 Plus’ multi-core scores 8661 and single-core scores 3371, and the S9 scores about 8518 and 3273 for multi-core and single-core respectively. Samsung’s Galaxy S9 Plus and S9 currently sells at $840 and $720 respectively, which means they have close pricing to the iPhone XR.

Still, the iPhone XR beats all of them with scores of 10,980 for multi-core, and 4795 for single-core. This is a great example of why Apple uses the A12 Bionic chip for this phone instead of A11 Bionic from last year. Such that speed cannot be competed unless you owns an iPhone XS or XS Max which have additional RAM.
