Although no longer a prominent name in the smartphone market, Sony's smartphone products still have a certain appeal to users. Many Sony fans are still waiting for another comeback of Sony on the upcoming Xperia 6 which promises to launch in 2020.
Although it is not clear what the shape of Xperia 6 will be like, the device will likely have a long screen design, according to the renders shared by Letsgodigital. This handset is expected to make its debut at the MWC 2020 event in February.
Sony is famous for a weird naming system. We've seen Xperia 1, Xperia 10, and now we are about to welcome the Xperia 6. There are even speculations about another phone named Xperia 3.
With Xperia 6, Sony will reportedly continue to stick with the 21: 9 screen ratio just like recent smartphones. However, there is one feature that has led people to believe that Sony is finally willing to change. That feature is the hole-punch display with a cut-out placed in the top center of the display just like the Galaxy Note 10. Besides, the rendered image also shows that Xperia 6 inch will have much thinner side bezels.
In addition, the site Letsgodigital also discovered a Sony patent registered in Japan describing a completely new interface. According to data from the World Intellectual Property Agency (WIPO), the patent describes a rather interesting interactive interface on the Xperia smartphones.
Moreover, the new generation of Xperia may support the split-screen feature is very expected. In terms of configuration, we expect the Xperia 6 to come equipped with Snapdragon 865 chipset, 8GB / 12GB RAM and 5G connectivity.
MWC 2020 is scheduled to take place on February 24 2020, and the event promises to witness a series of new smartphones launched by Samsung and other Chinese smartphone brands, such as Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and more.
