Smartphones are an important part of our lives and it’s hard to imagine a world without them. So, it’s hard to see their batteries die in front of our eyes.

Because of this, people are keeping chargers and backup batteries within their reach all the time. However, not everyone has a decent charging habit to improve battery performance or its health in the long run. That being said, this article will talk about what to do and what not to do while charging your phone.

To begin with, it’s better not to use your phone while charging it. That includes everything, from making calls, texting or gaming on the device. Any attempt against that can lead to a hotter device temperature, thus negatively affect the overall performance.

Second of all, use your own charger for your phone. In case the original one got broken or misplaced, try to buy another one that uses the same Ampere(A) and output Voltage(V) rating.

Next, you should remove the protective case (if any) when charging the phone. This helpful accessorize won’t be that helpful while your phone is charging, since it prevents heat from flowing out, thus leads to a slower heat dispersion process.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you should never use fast chargers or similar ones unless your smartphone supports them. Otherwise, your device will heat up so rapidly that the battery overall performance would be worse off.

In addition, don’t purchase chargers from untrustworthy manufacturers. For sure you can get them much cheaper than usual but is it really worth it? Letting low-quality cheap charger damage your smartphone isn’t what you’re looking for, is it?

Last but not least, try not to charge your phone overnight. Overcharging can inflate the phone’s battery and damage overall performance.
