The Redmi K20 as well as the K20 Pro are probably the hottest smartphones in recent times, worthy of the "flagship killer" title because in addition to having a powerful configuration, they also come with beautiful designs and affordable price tags. In particular, the Redmi K20 Pro is also the cheapest Snapdragon 855 smartphone on today market, with a starting price of only CNY2,499 (roughly Rs. 25,200).
Like other brands, Redmi decided to replace the current popular design trends for equipping the pop-up selfie camera for its Redmi K20 and K20 Pro, which is similar to the OnePlus 7 Pro. As a result, the device will have thin edges and truly full-view display, looking extremely beautiful.
While many users remain skeptical about the durability of the pop-up selfie camera on the Redmi K20 duo, Xiaomi has just recently announced that this camera module can pop up at least 300,000 times. In fact, this number is more than enough for users to use.
Let's make a simple calculation. If you use pop-up selfie camera of the Redmi K20 about 100 times per day, with a durability of 300,000 times, this camera module can pop up 8 years in a row, then the internal mechanical components begin to deteriorate. Technically, today people rarely use selfie camera 100 times a day and still use a phone for 8 years.
At the launch event, Xiaomi also announced that the pop-up camera of the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro only takes 0.8 seconds to activate, as well as to allow users to choose from 6 different sound effects every time the camera opens. In addition, this selfie camera module also has integrated LED light for each time popping up.
To recall, the Redmi K20 as well as Redmi K20 Pro both sport the same design with dual SIM slots and on-screen fingerprint sensor. The smartphones run MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie. They feature an AMOLED display measuring 6.39 inches with Full HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Under the hood, the K20 packs the Snapdragon 730 SoC while the Pro variant comes with the flagship Snapdragon 855 SoC. Both devices offer up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
In terms of imaging capabilities, the phones house three rear cameras including a 48MP sensor, a 13MP sensor and an 8MP sensor. On the front, they feature a 20MP camera for taking selfies and video calling. Another difference between these two devices is that the Redmi K20 Pro has a big 4,000mAh battery that supports 27W fast charging while the Redmi K20 with the same battery supports only the 18W fast charging.
