At CES 2020 taking place from January 7 to January 10, Samsung introduced a range of new technology products, including its second foldable smartphone with a clamshell design.
Initially, many sources believed that this phone would be called Galaxy Fold 2. However, a leaked photo at the event showed it will be launched with the new name "Galaxy Bloom". However, according to the latest report, this is not the official name but only the code name of the device.
Specifically, the famous leaker Ice Universe recently shared a new Tweet, saying that "Galaxy Bloom is just a codename" and this phone model will have "real name Galaxy Z ****". A few hours later, perhaps unable to control his excitement, this guy shared a photo showing the official name of the upcoming clamshell smartphone.
Accordingly, Samsung’s upcoming foldable device with the model name "Galaxy Bloom" will be launched with the official name "Samsung Galaxy Z Flip". Based on this leak, it can be said that the Galaxy Z Flip will be one of Samsung's new smartphones.
It is known that Samsung Galaxy Z Flip still uses the folding design but has a horizontal hinge, instead of folding vertically like the Galaxy Fold. It is expected to use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 processor, instead of the new and more powerful Snapdragon 865 chipset.
In addition, this phone is also equipped with a new type of glass covering the screen called Ultra-Thin Glass, replacing the plastic protective layer seen on Galaxy Fold. Other features of the device include 8K video recording, dual camera, Infinity-O display with a cut-out in the middle to house the selfie camera.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Flip alongside the Galaxy S20 series at a Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for February 11. Of course, as a flagship model launched in 2020, it should also be pre-installed with the latest Android 10 OS out of the box.
