Samsung Galaxy A used to be known as an upper mid-range series, but it now also includes budget and mid-range phones alongside upper mid-range handsets due to the Galaxy J lineup’s cancellation.
Accordingly, the Galaxy A lineup already has the budget Galaxy A10, mid-range A40, and top-of-the-line A80. The brand is preparing to launch more devices like the A90 powered by Snapdragon 855 and the entry-level A10s.
As per the new posts, Samsung has patented the commercial names for its models in the next year at the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office).
Here are the names of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A smartphones in 2020: A91, A81, A71, A61, A51, A41, A31, A21, and A11. This suggests that the South Korean phone maker probably gets rid of the yearly naming scheme for its new devices. Generally, it names the upgraded versions of the older phones by suffixing the year of release in a smartphone's original name.
However, there has been no certain announcement to confirm the launch of these above devices in 2020. Probably, the brand will release more phones with “s” and “e” suffixes.
In addition, some of the above smartphones will be unveiled under the Samsung Galaxy M series in some selected markets. For example, the A40s is available as the M30 in other markets but China. Besides, the A60 in the Chinese market is introduced as the M40 in the Indian market.
The trademark filings didn't reveal any further details about the launch dates or the specs of the devices. And since there are no reliable leaks about these phones, it's impossible to speculate any features or specs. However, because the first smartphone of the Galaxy A lineup was unveiled in February this year, it's likely that the 2020 Galaxy A smartphones will also be introduced around this period.
