Samsung Galaxy M51 is one of the new additions to the Galaxy M series in India. While most of the phone makers focus on their phones’ performance, Samsung is going to a different path with the Galaxy M51. This new smartphone is equipped with a whopping 7,000 mAh battery, which is much higher than its competitors and guarantees a long battery life on this phone. But how about other aspects? Let find out in our Samsung Galaxy M51 review below.
Samsung Galaxy M51: Price in India & Availability
The Samsung Galaxy M51 release date in India is September 10th. It is available in two memory configurations. The base option with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is retailed at Rs. 24,999 while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model is offered at Rs. 26,999. You can get the phone in two color options, Celestial Black and Electric Blue.
Samsung Galaxy M51: Design & Display
At first, I was a bit worried about the weight and size of this phone. However, that concern went away after spending a couple of days with it. You might think that having a 7,000 mAh battery certainly makes the device much larger and bulkier than average, but that isn’t true. Samsung did a good job of distributing the weight. However, it still weighs 213 grams, so some users might still get fatigued after holding it for a while.
I’m a fan of a small phone, but I have to admit that using the Galaxy M51 is pretty good in some cases. Even though the weight and size were not comfortable for me to use, watching videos and movies on this phone is great. Its 6.7” AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution showed sharp images and vivid colors. Sadly, the experience was ruined a bit by the punch-hole cut-out being placed in the center. It would be much better if it is moved to the top left or right corner. Fortunately, the bezels of the Galaxy M51 are also quite thin and sleek, which is another plus. With a peak brightness of 420 nits, you can comfortably use the phone outdoor.
Samsung Galaxy M51: Performance
In the performance department, the Galaxy M51 is comparable to its competitors thanks to the Snapdragon 730G chipset. During my time with the handset, I didn’t see any sign of slowing and the experience was very smooth. I tried running Asphalt 9 on the Galaxy M51 at default quality settings and it didn’t fail me. I then set the graphics settings to High and the handset still handled the game comfortably with hardly any lag.
I ran several benchmark tests to see whether the Samsung Galaxy M51 performance can be compared to its rivals. In Geekbench 5, it scored 548 and 1,789 points in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. On AuTuTu, its score was 2,64,696 points. As for graphics tests, it achieved 27 fps and 59 fps in Manhattan 3.1 and GFXBench’s T-Rex, respectively.
Samsung Galaxy M51: Cameras
The device is equipped with a quad-camera lens setup at the back, including a 64MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle unit, and two 5MP lenses for portrait and macro shots. The setup is similar to the one on its predecessor, Galaxy M31s. I didn’t see any significant changes in the camera app.
Overall, the Galaxy M51 cameras perform pretty well. The app offers tons of shooting modes, AR zone, filters, and more. In addition, Samsung offers the Single take feature inside the phone, allowing users to take the best pictures and videos using all four cameras. I have only seen this feature on flagship models like the Galaxy S20 and Note20 lineups. After that, you can pick among a series of photos and discard the bad ones. This is a great feature when you can’t choose the best mode to take photos. You can also use this feature for the selfie camera.
Don’t be surprised about the Galaxy M51’s performance in low-light conditions as it is the issue for other phones in the price range. Even though the photos had good color balance, they were also filled with noises and had limited details.

Samsung Galaxy M51: Battery
Many people are curious about the Galaxy M51’s battery life because you can’t find other phones with a 7,000 mAh battery. With regular usage, the device lasted more than two days before having to charge. In our HD video loop test, it managed to run for nearly 32 hours, which is the best result we have seen in a long time at any price range. Even though the 25W fast charging support is certainly great for the Galaxy M51, you will still have to wait nearly two hours to fully charge its massive battery.
