Samsung was reported to plan to launch a 5G variant with SM-A908 model number for the Galaxy A lineup at the beginning of July. The device is tipped to be Galaxy A90 5G. Now the phone has surfaced on Wifi Alliance site on August 1. The similar model is expected to be a high-end phone with powerful configurations.
In addition to the Android 9.0 version, the listing reveals that the South Korean phone maker is preparing to launch the Galaxy A90 5G in the U.S market. This is obvious from the letter “B” in the phone’s model number that the company has begun designating to international smartphones. Also, it is expected to unveil the phone in several countries in the EU like Italy, UK, France, Germany, and Scandinavia. Besides, another variant with SM-A908N model number will be limitedly introduced in South Korea.
As per the previous information, the upcoming A90 5G phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 855 chipset under the hood, which will allow it to support 5G network. Besides, rumor has it that there is another 4G model with the same chipset. And recently, a battery product of Samsung has been spotted with the EB-BA908ABY code, which reportedly belongs to the A90 5G. Accordingly, this battery is said to have a capacity of 4,500mAh. This is not surprising since the S10+ 5G is also backed with similar battery capacity. The model limited in Samsung’s home market surface on the Geekbench benchmark with 6GB RAM. However, it is likely that the phone will come with more RAM & ROM combinations.
Additionally, according to other leaks, the phone could sport a big 6.7-inch AMOLED screen, support for the 45W fast charging tech, a 48MP primary sensor on the back, and a 32MP selfie camera. So far, there has been no information about the device’s design. However, we do not think the phone will feature a swivel pop-up camera like the A80 due to the big battery. Furthermore, it is said that the phone will have a much lower price than the S10+ 5G.
