Redmi Note 8 Series Surpassed 10 Million Units Sold In Three Months

The Redmi Note 8 series was officially announced in China on 29 August and in India on 16 October. The Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro were up for sale shortly after launch. Now, three months after the official launch, the handset announced that the duo reached 10 million units sold globally.
To celebrate this amazing achievement, the Chinese phone maker is offering a discount on the Redmi Note 8, but that discount only applies for the variant with 6GB RAM / 128GB storage in China.
This milestone is already a very impressive one to look at. However, it’s even more impressive when comparing it to its predecessor Redmi Note 7, which took four months to reach the eight-digit figure. That means the Redmi Note 8 series surpassed 10 million devices sold 30 days quicker than the Note 7 lineup. The brand also announced that its mid-range smartphones were selling around 11,000 devices every day for 3 months.
Xiaomi is expected to release the Redmi K30 this month. The handset is said to be the first 5G smartphone from the brand, along with a full-screen display and a hole-punch design with two selfie cameras.
Redmi Note 8 & Note 8 Pro: Price & Specifications
Starting with the Redmi Note 8 Pro, it comes with an Helio G90T chipset and multiple memory configurations - 6GB RAM / 64GB storage, 6GB RAM / 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM / 128GB storage. The prices of thee variants in India are Rs. 14,999, Rs. 15,999, and Rs, 17,999, respectively. At the back, it has a quad-camera cluster, including a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.
Moving to the Redmi Note 8, it is powered by a Snapdragon 665 SoC and comes in two models - 4GB RAM / 64GB storage and 6GB RAM / 128GB storage. They are priced at Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 12,999, respectively. The handset also features a quad-camera setup, which is also the same as the Note 8 Pro. However, its camera setup consists of a 48MP main sensor instead of a 64MP one.
