Redmi Note 8 & Redmi Note 8 Pro were both announced in China back in August. Both of them come with a quad-camera lens system at their back. While the vanilla Redmi Note 8 is powered by a Qualcomm chipset, the Note 8 Pro draws power from the gaming-centric Helio G90T chipset. That means the ROM development for the Pro model might be more limited and not as active as its sibling and other Redmi smartphones that have a Snapdragon processor. Now, it seems like the brand is planning to launch a new model of the Note 8 Pro with a Qualcomm processor. A new Xiaomi smartphone with two model numbers M1912G7BC and M1912G7BE have passed through 3C certification in China. The certification also reveals that the phone will support 27W Quick Charge 4.0 technology.
While it was first said to be the Poco F2, sources believe that it is a new model of the Note 8 Pro instead. The device will feature a Snapdragon 730G chipset instead of the MediaTek one. According to a Twitter user Android Lovers, the new variant will still come with the same specs as the current ones except for the chipset. It should still have the same quad rear camera cluster with a 64MP sensor on the rear and a glass-metal sandwich design.
Separately, while suggesting that the Xiaomi M1912G7BC and M1912G7Be might be different models of the Redmi Note 8 Pro with a Snapdragon 730G chipset, tipster Xiaomishka also claims that the Redmi K30 will come with M1911U2E model number and might pack a 5G chipset from MediaTek and make its debut next month. As it is around 2 weeks until next month, we might get more details about both of them soon. For now, we recommend you to stay tuned for more details and take this news with a grain of salt.
