Redmi Note 7S Goes Official In India: Snapdragon 660 SoC & 48MP Sensor

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has just introduced a new addition to the Redmi Note 7 series dubbed Redmi Note 7S. The handset is an upgraded version of the Redmi Note 7 (Indian version). While the Indian model of the Redmi Note 7 only packs a 12MP primary rear camera, this new Redmi Note 7S sports a 48MP primary rear shooter. Apart from that, these two phones share quite a lot of similarities, including glass-sandwich design, water-drop notched screen, and a large battery. You can say that it is an Indian model of the global Redmi Note 7 that launched in China earlier in the year.

You can buy the base variant of the handset with 3GB of RAM + 32GB of storage for Rs. 10,999. The higher model with 4GB of RAM / 64GB of storage is priced at Rs. 12,999. There are three color variants for you to choose, including Ruby Red, Sapphire Blue, and Onyx Black. It will go on sale in India from 23 May via Flipkart, Mi Home stores, and Mi.com. Mi Studios, Mi Preferred Partner stores, Mi Stores, and offline stores will also distribute the device very soon.
Redmi Note 7S: Specs & Features

The device comes with a 6.3-inch FHD+ panel with a water-drop notch on the top and a layer of Gorilla Glass 5. It also has P2I splash-resistant coating for water resistant. Powering the phone is an Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz, clubbed with 3/4GB RAM + 32/64GB of expandable storage. For software, it boots Android 9 Pie with Xiaomi’s MIUI 10 at launch.

In terms of camera, the handset features a dual camera system, including a 48MP Samsung GM1 sensor and a secondary 5MP depth sensor with a LED flash, EIS, AI Portrait Mode, and PDAF. On the front, there is a 13MP selfie camera housed on the water-drop notch. For security, it features both AI Face Unlock feature and a fingerprint sensor on the rear. Xiaomi equips it with a large 4,000 mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 and a USB-C port. Other features of the Redmi Note 7S include Dual SIM, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS.
