Redmi K40 Retail Box Photo Leaked, Suggesting No Charger In The Box

The leaked photo of the Redmi K40's retail box suggests that users will also have two options when purchasing the Redmi K40, with or without a charger.

Xiaomi Mi 11 was announced recently and it is the first Xiaomi smartphone that does not come with a charger in the box, although the brand still offers users an option to purchase the phone with a charger. Now, it seems like Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi will also follow Xiaomi’s footsteps, starting with the upcoming Redmi K40 series.

It seems like Redmi will follow Xiaomi's footsteps on the charger removal.

Previously, Redmi’s GM Lu Weibing confirmed that the upcoming Redmi K40 Pro would be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 processor. Today, an alleged photo of the Redmi K40's retail box has been leaked, revealing that this smartphone could come with no charger in the box.

The image reveals two retail boxes of the Redmi K40, with the one on the left side is significantly thicker than the other. It can be easily guessed that the thinner box will not have a charger.

It is speculated that Redmi will adopt the same strategy as Xiaomi. That means the brand will allow users to choose between two versions, with or without the charger. However, when Xiaomi applies this strategy to Mi 11, most users still chose the version with the charger included.

The Redmi K40 series will comprise two models, vanilla K40 and K40 Pro. While the K40 Pro version will be equipped with the top-end Snapdragon 888 chip, the K40 version is said to come with a Snapdragon 775G chip, which is yet to be released by Qualcomm.

As for pricing, the Redmi K40 Pro version has been confirmed to be priced at CNY 2,999 (around Rs. 33,800) and will be released sometime next month.
