Redmi 7A Launched In India Priced From Rs. 5,999, First Sale From 11 July

In addition to the Redmi Note lineup, Xiaomi’s Redmi A smartphones are also popular in the Indian market. Recently, the brand has announced that it shipped more than 23.6 million Redmi A units in India until April 2019.
And on July 4, the brand introduced its new Redmi 7A phone in the country. The smartphone was first introduced several weeks ago in China. It is positioned to be a cheap device with water-proof design, a big battery, a display ratio of 18:9, and MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie. Typically, the device is also the first phone powered by an octa-core chipset in the A series.

The Redmi 7A is available in two storage variants in India including 2GB RAM + 16GB internal storage (Rs. 5,999) and 2GB RAM + 32GB internal storage (Rs. 6,199). In addition, the brand is also offering an Rs.200 discount for those who want to buy the phone in July. The handset has three color variants comprising of Matte Gold, Matte Black, and Matte Blue.
The device will go on sale in India from 11 July via Mi Home stores, Mi.com, Flipkart, and other retailers. Notably, the brand is offering a two-year warranty for this new Redmi 7A instead of one-year warranty like other smartphones.
Redmi 7A: Specifications

Regarding the features of the new phone, its’s body is made of polycarbonate. And while the phone doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner, it features face unlock tech for security. In terms of software, it runs Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 10 at launch. Additionally, the phone sport a 5.45-inch 720 x 1,440-pixel display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it is powered by a Snapdragon 439 octa-core chipset clocked at 2GHz, paired with an Adreno 505 GPU. And as mentioned above, the phone has 2GB RAM and two internal storage options including 16GB and 32GB.
Typically, the device comes with a 12MP Sony IMX486 lens in India. Also, the brand is expected to equip the phone with AI-backed scene detection feature through a software update in the coming time. On the front, the phone sports a 5MP camera with AI smart beauty and AI portrait modes. Other connectivity options comprise of A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.2, Wifi, dual SIM, 4G LTE, and wireless FM radio. Last, the phone comes with a 4,000 mAh battery.
