Tomorrow, Realme will release a new smartphone in the Realme C-series called Realme C3. The design of this phone is already revealed via an official poster. Now, the brand shared a new poster, which confirms that the handset will come with its new Realme UI.
Several smartphones from Realme are scheduled to get a new update to the Realme UI, replacing the current Oppo’s ColorOS. The poster says that the Realme C3 will be the first Realme smartphone to get the new Realme UI pre-installed. The Realme UI will bring a new user interface and multiple new features such as Smart Gestures, personal information protection, and Focus Mode.
In a new Tweet, the brand also confirms that the handset will be powered by the new gaming-centric Helio G70 SoC, which was introduced by MediaTek several weeks ago. The chipset is built on a 12nm process and it has four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.7GHz and four Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0GHz.
Before this announcement, another leak suggested that the Helio G70 chipset might also be the one powering the Redmi 9. For now, only the Realme C3 is officially confirmed to arrive on 6 February.
In another Tweet, the company confirmed that the Realme C3 will arrive with a 12MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. To recall, its predecessor Realme C2 was equipped with a dual 13MP (f/2.2) + 2MP (f/2.4) camera setup. The phone has also been confirmed to sport a 6.5-inch display with a mini-drop notch and a beefy 5,000mAh battery.

Realme C3: Review
Realme C3 is a low-cost phone in the C Series of Realme, and at a price of Rs. 6,999 this will be a direct competitor to the recently launched Redmi 8A Dual. In this review, we will take a look at the Realme C3, but you should note that this is the upgraded model of the phone with three instead of two cameras on the Indian version. Other specs are the same on both versions.
It can be seen that the product box is still familiar with yellow tones in the middle, black in the middle. There are not many accessories inside, including only charging and cables, but the packaging size is quite large.
The Realme C3 is a budget smartphone, so Realme tries to cut down the phone’s accessories as many as it can. Headphones and plastic cases are not outside this list.
The handset feels quite light when holding in hand because the whole body is made of plastic, but the phone is still quite solid. The Realme C3 is very well finished in every small detail.
The texture on the rear of the device is quite similar to its predecessor - slippery, so you might need to hold on tight to the phone. Holding the device outside you will see 3D light trails running diagonally from the camera angle to the body, which looks nice, but to say impressive, it is still not enough.
The Realme C3 has a battery of up to 5,000 mAh, but only supports charging over a micro-USB port, which is quite old and it does not have fast charging technology. According to Realme, this phone has a 10W charging support only. The 3.5mm headphone port is also retained on the C3.
Also talking about this camera cluster, the Indian version of the phone only has dual rear cameras while there is a new model launched last week with triple rear cameras. To be more specific, apart from the 12 MP f / 1.8 main camera and a 2 MP depth-sensing camera, the upgraded model also comes with a 2 MP macro camera.
Realme C3 screen uses IPS panel that offers sufficient brightness, and a decent viewing angle. This is a budget smartphone, so we can't ask for much. With the 6.5-inch size and small water-drop notch, the Realme C3 display gives a comfortable display space, but the HD + resolution will also hinder many users who want higher definition when watching movies or playing games.
Realme C3: Performance
It uses MediaTek's 12nm Helio G70 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory, just enough to play games in Medium or Low configurations. We tried benchmarking and the Realme C3 score on the AnTuTu test is 178,663, while its GeekBench scores were 352 (single-core) and 1,257 (multi-core).
As for Realme C3 PUBG Mobile performance, the device automatically set HD graphics settings as well as the high frame rate preset. I was a bit surprised as the game performed pretty well on those settings. I didn’t see any frame drops or stuttering in-game and the experience was nice overall. However, I once pulled down the notification shade to adjust the brightness while I was in-game, and that caused the UI to stutter a bit. However, as soon as I got back to the game, everything was normal again. If you are looking for a budget smartphone to play PUB Mobile, it is a great option. You just need to do is avoiding opening the notification shade while playing unless you are in the lobby.
Realme C3 is pre-installed with Realme UI this time, with a build version of 1.0. The device runs on Android 10 so it is also an advantage for users to experience some of the newer features. We will have a more detailed review of this handset in the near future.
Realme C3: Launch News
As scheduled, the Realme C3 is officially introduced in India today. The handset is the second budget phone launched by Realme in the country, after Realme 5i. The Realme C3 is a more affordable smartphone with a massive 5,000 mAh battery, dual rear cameras, and a water-drop notch display. It is also the first phone to feature the new Helio G70 chipset and Android 10-based Realme UI.
Realme C3: Price in India & Availability
The Realme C3 price in India is Rs. 6,999 for the entry-level 3GB RAM / 32GB storage model. The price goes up to Rs. 7,999 for the 4GB RAM / 64GB storage variant. You can choose between the Blazing Red and Frozen Blue color options. It will be up for sale in the country at 12.00 p.m on 14 February via Realme.com and Flipkart while you might have to wait for the phone to hit the offline retail stores.
Realme C3 buyers can get Rs. 1,000 discount on exchange for any phone and also benefits from Jio worth Rs. 7,550.
Realme C3: Specifications & Features
The handset features a polycarbonate unibody on the rear while it gets a water-drop notch display on the front. Its screen has a size of 6.5 inches and supports HD+ resolution. It is driven by an Helio G70 SoC, which is said to a gaming-centric chipset. Paired with it are 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of storage. There are three card slots, two of which are for SIM cards and the other is for a microSD card (up to 256GB). It is fueled by a beefy 5,000 mAh battery that doesn’t support any fast charging technology. However, it is quite surprising that the handset supports the reverse charging feature, which allows it to charge other devices that have wireless charging support.
For security, it doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor and there is only Face Unlock feature available for biometric security. Software-wise, it is the first phone from Realme to ship with Android 10-based Realme UI out of the box. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, micro-USB port, GPS/Glonass/A-GPS, headphone jack, and dual Wi-Fi.
For selfies, it is equipped with a 5MP selfie camera housed in the water-drop notch. The camera supports features like Timelapse, panorama, HDR, and AI Beautification. Around the back, it uses a dual-camera setup that comprises a 12MP main sensor with an f/1.8 lens and a 2MP depth-sensing camera with an f/2.4 lens. They support camera features like Chrome Boost, HDR, slow-motion video recording at 120fps, Night Scape, and portrait mode.
