Realme 5 Pro Specification, Review, Price in India - All You Need To Know

For Rs. 14,999, the Realme 5 Pro specification and feature are offer high value for the money, but it doesn't outshine its rivals in the price point.

For a long time, Xiaomi has been the most prominent brand when it comes to smartphones with powerful configuration and competitive pricing. However, it is not the only company that follows that strategy as Oppo's sub-brand Realme also jumped in the budget and mid-range segment since 2018.

We will go through all Realme 5 Pro specification and price

The Realme 5 Pro is the successor of the Realme 3 Pro launched in 2019. Although it is a very short time, Realme has brought to the phone a number of notable upgrades, especially the quad rear camera cluster with a 48MP main camera using a Sony sensor, the Snapdragon 712 processor, and USB Type-C port with fast charging capability. In this review, we will go through all the Realme 5 Pro specification and feature to help you get a better understanding of the phone.

Realme 5 Pro: Price in India

The handset is retailed at Rs. 13,999 for the base 4GB RAM + 64GB storage option. You can also get the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variants for Rs. 14,999 and Rs. 16,999, respectively.

Realme 5 Pro: Design

The design of Realme 5 Pro is basically inherited from the Realme 3 Pro. It still has a similar-sized water-drop screen, plastic body, and similar design. The biggest difference in this new version is that the back of the device has a diamond pattern. It is more eye-catching and looks more like glass than that of the Realme 3 Pro.

Water-drop notch style is very popular among budget smartphones.

Realme 5 Pro: Display

On the front of the Realme 5 Pro, there is a 6.3-inch IPS LCD panel, featuring Full-HD + resolution, 19: 9 ratio, pixel density of 409 PPI ... similar to the Realme 3 Pro. However, this is still a screen with good display quality.

Realme 5 Pro's display is good for its price.

The screen display slightly boosted colors, but it still looks quite natural to me. With more than 500 nits of brightness, you can still easily see the photo in the viewfinder when taking photos outdoors. Overall, the display of the Realme 5 Pro is not better than its rivals in the price point but is still great for consuming media and playing games.

Realme 5 Pro: Performance & Battery life

Moving to the Realme 5 Pro specification, performance, and battery life. It is equipped with a Snapdragon 712 chipset, which is an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 710 used on the Realme 3 Pro. Compared to the Snapdragon 710, the Snapdragon 712 has a 0.1GHz clock speed on its high-performance dual-core cluster. Specifically, Snapdragon 712 has 8 CPU cores, including 2 high-performance Kryo cores (cortex A75) clocked at 2.3GHz and 6 energy-efficient Kryo cores (cortex A55) clocked at 1.7GHz.

Despite having the same Adreno 616 GPU, the Snapdragon 712, according to Qualcomm, has a 10% performance increase in the graphics department in comparison to the Snapdragon 710. In addition, the remaining components in Snapdragon 712 and 710 are the same including the image processor (Spectra 250 ISP), integrated 4G wave modem (X15 LTE), and 10nm LPP manufacturing process.

Overall, the Realme 5 Pro performs very well in gaming compared to other smartphones in the mid-range segment. You can comfortably play mid-end-graphics mobile games with the phone. Compared to the Realme 3 Pro, the device also has significant improvements in smoothness and frame stability during gaming. This is shown based on the results from GameBench, an app used for assessing the actual gaming performance of a smartphone.

The Realme 5 Pro achieves higher fps stability with Dead Trigger 2.

When we tested the device with heavy-graphics games like PUBG Mobile and Dead Triggers 2, the device handled them pretty well with high fps stability. With PUBG Mobile, the phone achieved an average of 40 fps with 85 percent of fps stability.

The Realme 5 Pro has a 4,035 mAh battery, that supports VOOC 3.0 fast charging via USB Type C charging port. Using the included 20W fast charger, it takes about 30 minutes to charge 50% of the battery and about 85 minutes to fully charge it.

Realme 5 Pro: Camera

Realme 5 Pro is the first Realme smartphone that has four cameras at the back. The setup includes a 48MP main camera using Sony IMX586 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera for taking close-up photos with a 4cm focal range, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, the device has a 16MP camera for selfies and video calls. The camera interface is still pretty much the same as other Realme and OPPO smartphones.

First, let's talk about the 48MP main camera. By default, this main camera takes photos at 12MP resolution and also has the option of taking 48MP photos. The detail and other factors such as color and contrast between photos taken by 12MP and 48MP modes are almost the same except for the size of the image.

Photos taken from the main camera have a high level of detail but still have some imbalances between colors. However, the difference between the image and reality still feels quite natural in many shooting scenes, except for images with a lot of yellow tones as the color is a bit blurred.

5x zoom

Thanks to the large camera sensor, the 48MP main camera allows users to take up to 5x zoom photos. Despite the digital zoom, images taken at 2x zoom still retains good colors and details. It is a different case when you try to take photos at 5x zoom is quite bad. In fact, it is even better for you to capture images normally and zoom the photos in.

Night mode

In low-light environments, colors on the photos taken from the main camera are similar to when shooting at day-light conditions. However, they are often brighter than it should be to reduce noise so the detail level is also lower as well. At night, you can use Night mode as it works effectively in increasing brightness, detail, and color of the image significantly. In the night mode, the camera takes multiple shots at different exposures so the shutter speed is quite slow, taking about 2-4 seconds depending on the light condition of the scene.
