The Realme 3 has officially been released in the Indian market with the price from Rs. 8,990. The device features two rear cameras, a Mediatek Helio P70 chipset, and a battery with 4,230mAh capacity. The handset is set to go on first sales on 12 March on Realme and Flipkart website. It will take on the Samsung Galaxy M20 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 7. The phone comes in 3 color options and Realme also announced some offers for this smartphone. Besides the Realme 3, Realme has been working on the Pro variant in the country.
Let’s have a comparison of the Realme 3 with the Galaxy M20 and the Redmi Note 7 to find out the smartphone with the best price on paper. It is known that all these smartphones have a variant priced below Rs. 10,000 with almost the same features.
Realme 3 vs Samsung Galaxy M20 vs Redmi Note 7: Price in India
The Realme 3 comes in two variants including 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage options. These two variants have respective prices of Rs. 8,999 and Rs. 10,999. The device exclusively has three color options including Radiant Blue, Black, and Dynamic Black on the Realme and Flipkart website. The handset will go on its first sales at 12 PM on 12 March (only Black and Dynamic Black color options). The company announced that the price tag of the variant with 3GB RAM is a part of the launch offer for one million customers buying the device first. And the Radiant Blue color option will go on sales from 26 March and will be present at offline stores early.
It is known that the launch offers comprise of an instant Rs. 500 discount for HDFC Bank cards, benefits of Jio worth Rs. 5,300 on the Flipkart website, and 20% Supercash on MobiKwik when buying the device via the official Realme website. The Realme 3 Iconic Case is expected to go on sales for the price of Rs. 599 in Yellow, Black, and Diamond Blue.
Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage is priced at Rs. 9,999 while the variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage is priced at Rs. 11,999. The device will be available in three color options including Ruby Red, Sapphire Blue, and Onyx Black.
Additionally, the handset will be available for flash sales at 12 PM on 6 March for the first time via Mi Home stores, Mi.com and Flipkart websites. The device will be available in some offline retail stores early. Regarding launch offer, the phone will be launched with an “ultra-slim” phone case, but the perforated phone case is priced at Rs. 349. Additionally, unlimited calling with up to 1,120GB, and benefits from Airtel Thanks such as free access to App advisor, Contacts Backup, Spam Block and Airtel TV premium, etc will be offered by Airtel. Also, those who buy the Redmi Note 7 will receive “Double Data” on over Rs. 198 recharge packs on Reliance Jio.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy M20 with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage is priced at Rs. 10,990 and the higher variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage is priced at Rs. 12,990. They are currently available for sales via Samsung India and Amazon India websites. The handset has two color options including Ocean Blue and Charcoal Black. As a launch offer, customers of Jio 4G who buy the smartphones of the Samsung Galaxy M line up will receive the double data benefits on the recharge packs of Rs. 299 and Rs. 198.

As for the specs, the Realme 3 comes with Android Pie-based newly-released Color OS 6.0. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 7 comes with Android Pie-based MIUI 10, and the Galaxy M20 comes with Samsung Experience 9.5 UX based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
Furthermore, the phone from Realme sports a 6.2-inch screen with HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) resolution with 88.3% screen-to-body ratio, the Corning Gorilla Glass protective layer, an aspect ratio of 19:9, and peak brightness of 450 nits. Meanwhile, the Samsung phone and the Xiaomi phone feature a 6.3-inch display with Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) with an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9. All three smartphones have dewdrop notches. The Samsung phone has the Infinity V notch design.
Regarding the chipset, the Realme 3 comes with the MediaTek Helio P70 octa-core chipset clocked on 2.1GHz while the Redmi Note 7 has the octa-core Snapdragon 660 chipset, and the Galaxy M20 features a Samsung’s Exynos 7904 chipset. All three smartphones are available in 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variants. They also have a microSD slot for expandable storage with Samsung and Realme offerings having dedicated microSD slots.

In the photography department, the Realme 3 comes with two vertically-aligned rear cameras including a 13MP f/1.8 lens and a 2MP secondary lens. The device has various features such as Portrait Mode, Chroma Boost, scene recognition, Hybrid HDR, Nightscape mode, PDAF, etc. On the front, the handset also has a 13MP selfie camera with 1.12μm pixels with some features such as AI Face Unlock, AI Beautification, and HDR.
The Redmi Note 7 is equipped with a dual rear camera setup comprising of a 12MP primary lens (with 1.25μm pixels) and a 2MP secondary depth lens. On the front, the handset also features a 13MP selfie camera. According to the company, the Redmi Note 7 has AI-integrated camera app to improve scene recognition ability as well as smart beauty and portrait mode features.
The remaining smartphone, the Galaxy M20 has two cameras on the back including a 13MP f/1.9 primary lens and a 5MP ultra-wide lens. On the front, the device comes with an 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera.

The Galaxy M20 has the best battery compared to two rival smartphones thanks to its 5,000mAh cell. The Redmi Note 7 and the Realme 3 are powered by a 4,000mAh battery and a 4,230mAh battery, respectively. Two phones from Xiaomi and Samsung have USB-C port while the phone from Realme has a Micro-USB port. Moreover, these smartphones also have two same connectivity options including a 3.5mm headphone jack and dual-SIM card support.
