Since last week, the Pixel 3 phone has been delivered to owners, hence there have been clips on Youtube in which the phone is put under various tests, including the comparisons between Pixel 3 and iPhone XS in terms of speed.
But things may not go well for the Google phone if you are looking forward to the phone’s speed. How sad! Not only can’t Pixel 3 outperform 2018 iPhones, but its hardware appears old-fashioned.
There nothing good for Google to launch the phone in late October since it’s still operating on the dated processors namely Qualcomm’s Snapdragon. With the 7nm chip available, which can power all three iPhones of 2018 and four new Mate 20 versions of Huawei, the Pixel 3’s 10nm 845 chip is already old-fashioned. Plus, another 7nm chip is available, namely Snapdragon 855 (8150).
But the critical problem with Google Pixel 3 is not about its hardware. As shown in one of the following tests, Pixel 3’s capability in keeping apps in memory is not very good, which may be time consuming as you have to wait for the phone ti reload the apps.
Although Pixel 3 is operating the purest Android form, it is not the fastest phone in the market and its software tend to not be optimized. If you remember, iPhone’s iOS11 had problems too with RAM management.
On EverythingApplePro channel, the Pixel 3 was compared with the iPhone XS Max in several tests on speed, which resulted in Apple as the winner. We also did the real-life speed test which is used for every phone that comes out. Each phone launch the same series of apps, in the exact same order.
Compare speed of Pixel 3 XL and Iphone XS max
The test is conducted in two laps, the first of which focuses on the device’s speed and the second one compares the phones’ memory management as they have the phones launch the apps again from memory.
The Pixel 3 XL may be faster than the iPhone XS Max in booting up and a few apps absolutely launch quicker. But in total, the XS Max is the winner. The XL lost to other flagships of 2018 too, such as the OnePlus 6 – the fastest Android now, and the Galaxy S9.
Evaluate the score index of iPhone XS Max and Pixel 3 XL by An Tu Tu, GFXBench
In the following video, the scores for iPhone XS Max and Pixel 3 XL in various tests are shown, which include An Tu Tu, GFXBench, Geekbench 4 and Octane 2.0.
It’s not surprising that the iPhone XS Max ranks first in the list. Eventually, while the iPhone XS Max runs on the 7nm A12 Bionic chip – the best processor right now, the Pixel 3 XL’s processor can’t even beat that of iPhone X and iPhone 8 last year.
