In addition to eliminating the R lineup, OPPO phone maker plans to replace the F series for the Reno sub-brand smartphones. The Reno series was introduced in the Chinese market a month ago which currently includes two devices, Oppo Reno 10X Zoom Edition and standard Oppo Reno phone. The Reno 10X Zoom Edition features a shark-fin selfie camera and a periscope sensor to offer the 10X digital zoom capability. The company now probably plans to position the Reno series as its replacement for the Oppo F smartphone series. Accordingly, the OPPO F11/F11 Pro duo which debuted in last March in the Indian market will be the last devices in the F series that OPPO offers.

According to a relevant and reliable source to this matter, the mobile division of the company has accomplished the 10-year anniversary in its home market, and on this occasion, the company wants to launch new strategies to its smartphone series. Accordingly, the company will replace the F lineup for the Reno series. These changes will also be carried out in the Indian market where OPPO has been operating for 5 years.

It is said that the smartphones in the Reno lineup are set to be unveiled in the Indian market on 28 May. While there is no official information revealed by the source, it is likely that the Reno 10X Zoom Edition will replace the upper mid-class segment to which the OPPO R17 Pro used to belong while the standard Reno smartphone will replace the F lineup in the mid-class segment. Previously, the company had announced that it will not introduce any smartphones in the R lineup anymore. Instead, it plans to make use of the Oppo Find and Reno series as the company’s de facto flagship smartphones.

As mentioned above, the OPPO Reno 10X Zoom Edition will feature the 10X lossless zoom capability alongside a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, and a 160mm telephoto sensor to offer one of the longest zoom capabilities on a smartphone. The phone is powered by a flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset under the hood. In addition, the smartphone will sport a 6.55-inch full-view AMOLED screen and a “Shark Fin” pop-up front-facing camera. The selfie camera has a 16MP resolution for taking selfies as well as video calling. Besides, the smartphone runs ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie at launch. It is backed with a 4,065 mAh cell with the VOOC 3.0 fast charging solution support.
Meanwhile, the Reno phone sports a 6.4-inch full-view screen. Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor. The smartphone will come with a dual rear camera setup including a 48MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. On the front, the phone sports a 16MP sensor with shark fin pop-up mechanism. In addition, other features of the phone include 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, ColorOS 6.0 UI, and a 3,765mAh cell with the VOOC 3.0 fast charging solution support.
