Despite the big size of Oppo Reno 4 5G, its weight of 183g and frame measuring 7.8mm make the phone feel manageable. Plus, the 90.7% screen-to-body ratio and the AMOLED screen give the handset a luxurious feel.
Oppo Reno 4 5G Price And Release Date
Oppo Reno 4 5G was launched with the Reno 4 Pro and Reno 4Z in October 2020.
For now, the phone is retailed for AU$799 in Australia and £499 in the UK. Oppo Reno 4 5G price in India is expected to be Rs 39,999.
Oppo Reno 4 5G Design
This is nice phone with 2019’s design and a 2020’s twist. It has a plastic back and a front covered by Gorilla Glass 3, finished by a plastic frame. The only feature reminding users that the phone is launched in 2020 is the dual-lens selfie cameras on the front.
Despite the 6.4-inch screen, the phone doesn’t feel too thick or heavy. To put things into perspective, Oppo Reno 4 5G is larger than the iPhone 12 Pro but not as big as the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
The power button is on the right of the phone while the volume rocker sits on the left. The usual USB-C port is at the bottom.
Out of the box, the phone comes with a pre-fitted screen protector and a case.
Oppo Reno 4 5G Display
The fingerprint scanner is under the AMOLED display and the screen itself offers lots of different options, including screen color mode customizations, color temperature controls, and eye-saving blue light filters.
While the Oppo Reno 4 5G has only a 60Hz refresh rate, the sheer picture quality is what makes it desirable. The brightness of 600 nits, vivid colors, and deep blacks make for enjoyable viewing experience.
Oppo Reno 4 5G Camera
Oppo Reno 4 5G sports the familiar triple-camera setup with a 48MP f/1.7 wide primary, an ultra-wide snapper, and a 2MP depth sensor.
Pictures taken with the phone is impressive and stunning in good lighting. Despite the lack of optical image stabilization, indoor shots look good too.
The only occasion the camera setup of the phone has to surrender to its competitors like Google Pixel 4a is in low light.
While we all appreciate the addition of the 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, the poor low-light performance and the lack of details mean it should be reserved for well-lit situations.
The 2MP depth sensor is responsible for some respectable portrait shots with a clean separation between the foreground and the background.
Video-wise, Oppo Reno 4 5G caps at 4K and 30FPS and the footages look good with good lighting.
Oppo Reno 4 5G Specs And Performance
Under the hood, Oppo Reno 4 5G runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G processor which also powers phones like Google Pixel 5 and Motorola Razr 2020. The chip can handle day-to-day tasks with ease.
The phone scores 1,762 multi-core and 605 single-core on Geekbench. While these aren’t something too impressive, in real life, the phone is plenty able to be a gaming handset with titles running at moderate graphics with no glitch.
Oppo-owned ColorOS is well-optimized so users are treated with a snappy app experience.
The phone offers plenty of space with 128GB of onboard storage and 8GB of RAM. However, if you need more than that, you will have to find another handset as there is no option to expand the storage.
Oppo Reno 4 5G Battery Life
One of the highlights of the Oppo Reno 4 5G is the fast charging ability, which is as short as 40 minutes. Thanks to Oppo’s Super VOOC 2.0 technology, both the Reno 4 and the Realme 7 Pro, despite being mid-rangers, have the charging time of premium phones.
Lasting a full day is no issue with this phone. In our tests, the 4,000mAh battery lost only 12% of power when streaming a Full HD video for 90 minutes at maximum brightness. This performance makes the Oppo Reno 4 5G a great phone for videos.
If users are in need of some extra time with the phone, they can rely on the Power Saving Mode or the Super Power Saving Mode of the phone.
If you want to maximize the ability of the phone when gaming, there is a special mode for that too, but the tradeoff is the battery life.
