Chinese phone maker Oppo has recently trademarked the “Enco” moniker with the EUIPO (the European Union Intellectual Property Office). The trademark that first appeared on Android Updated was filed by the end of last month. It is suggested that there could be a new smartphone series.
Presently, the brand has already had some good series this year comprising of the Reno, a flagship lineup of Oppo along with the Find lineup. But Shen Yiren, Oppo’s Vice President, has revealed that the company will be launching a new smartphone series in H2 2019. And it could bear the name “Enco”.
In fact, should Enco be a new lineup, there are some candidates which could fit under the new moniker. Recently, the company has showcased the first under-display camera phone prototype in the world which is expected to be under the mass production soon. However, the brand will not commercially launch any new full-view camera smartphone this year.
The series is likely to bear the new Enco moniker. Also, the brand has been on the track of launching a foldable phone, however, there has been no information about the release of this handset so far. The “Enco” moniker has appeared for the first time.
And among relevant stories, the Chinese phone maker has recently trademarked the name Find Y as well and will unveil the series with this name soon. This comes after the Oppo VP’s official statement that Oppo will not be launching the Oppo Find X2 this year. The brand also stopped the production of the high-end Oppo R smartphones series. And about whether the upcoming series of Oppo has the name “Enco” or not, let’s stay tuned to see.
As mentioned above, Oppo has also filed a patent for its own foldable phone. Below are some images of the patent:
And as you can see in the images, the foldable handset will feature a dual camera setup on the back. On the front, it will have a single shooter and a strange large chin and forehead. The power and volume buttons are placed on the phone’s left side. Now, there is no much information about this handset.
