Oppo A8 To Launch Soon, Specs & Design Revealed On TENAA Listing

Aside from the Oppo A8, Oppo is also expected to bring the Oppo Reno 3, Oppo Reno 3 Pro, and Oppo A91 in the recent future.

The upcoming Oppo A8 has just passed through the Chinese regulator TENAA database. An alleged photo of the handset has also surfaced online and revealed its design and several other details. According to the TENAA listing, the Oppo A7’s successor will have an improvement in the camera department. As for the launch date, the Oppo A7 was released in November last year, so we expect to see the handset arriving before the end of 2019. Aside from the Oppo A8, the poster also shows a few other upcoming products such as Oppo Reno 3, Oppo Reno 3 Pro, and Oppo A91.

As per the listing on TENAA, an Oppo phone with the model number PDBM00 is listed on its website and it is speculated to be the Oppo A8. The handset was shown to run on Android 9 Pie and carry a 6.5-inch TFT panel with HD+ resolution (1,600 x 720p). Under the hood, it gets power from an unknown octa-core 2.3GHz chipset, coupled with 4GB of RAM. Its storage is listed to be 128GB with option to further expand with a microSD card (up to 256GB).

Camera-wise, the upcoming Oppo A8 could sport a triple camera cluster at the back. The cameras are tipped to include a 12MP main sensor, an 8MP camera, and a 2MP snapper. On the front, it could carry an 8MP camera for selfies. It will also come with a micro-USB port, weigh 180g, and measure 163.9 x 75.5 x 8.3 mm. Fueling the phone is listed to be a 4,230 mAh battery. Red, Green, Black, and White are four expected color variants of the phone.

The photos attached with the listing reveal a dewdrop-notched display on the Oppo A8. It also shows a triple camera cluster stacked vertically at the back of the phone. The rear panel also seems to house a fingerprint reader. Meanwhile, the right spine accommodates a power button and there is a volume rocker on the left side.
