Last April, OPPO launched the Ace 2 smartphone, with Snapdragon 865 chipset, 90Hz screen, and an in-display fingerprint sensor for an attractive price of only $565 (around Rs. 42,800).

However, the most prominent feature of OPPO Ace 2 is the battery, with a capacity of 4,000 mAh that supports 65W fast wired charging and 40W wireless fast charging. Both fast charging technologies are impressive, but the 40W wireless fast charging technology is even more impressive because many smartphones today can still charge only 15W even when plugged in.
But it seems like users will have to trade many things when using OPPO's rapid wireless charging technology. The most significant thing is the battery capacity, which will be degraded much more rapidly compared to traditional charging technology.
Andrei F. of AnandTech revealed on his Twitter page: “OPPO confirms that its 40W fast charging technology will reduce the maximum capacity of the battery to 70%, in the same cycle that a conventional 15W charge does. reduce battery capacity to 90% ”.
That's why fast charging isn’t always good. That is also why major companies like Apple or Samsung are not jointing the competition of fast charging technology. While the iPhone only supports up to 18W fast charging, Samsung's flagship smartphone also only supports up to 25W charging.
However, nowadays, users tend to change their smartphones after 2-3 years. As a result, they may not realize the consequences of battery drain due to fast charging technology. OPPO might also believe that so that they are willing to accept the trade-off of battery capacity for faster-charging speed, bringing more utilities to users.
But if you are not a fan of changing for smartphones after less than three years, you should consider not going for the OPPO Ace 2 or any other smartphones that support OPPO’s 40W wireless charging technology.
