The battery is one of the most important components on every phone. It is also the most dangerous component because batteries can cause fire accidents with serious consequences. The latest incident involves a Redmi Note 7S when this smartphone was reported to go up in flame without any cause.

An Indian man named Chavhan Ishwar ordered the Redmi Note 7S on 1 October and received the device two days later. It was working properly until 2 November when it was burned.
Chavhan Ishwar said that he put his Redmi Note 7S on his desk. When he returned to the room, he smelled a burning smell and saw that his smartphone was on fire. The back of the smartphone had melted and exposed the battery as well as the internal components. Fortunately, no one wasn’t injured by this incident.

But that's not the whole story when Ishwar contacted an authorized Xiaomi service center to find the cause and get a replacement, but he got reject after a few days of contact. The center replied that the battery was not covered under warranty. According to the service center located in Thane, they found that “display has abnormal melt mark on it”. And as a result, Ishwar can’t get a replacement phone even though battery defect was the main cause of his phone’s serious damage.
