The last year’s Oppo flagship, the Oppo Find X, was quite a unique smartphone when it was released last year. The handset comes with a unique sliding mechanism for the selfie camera, allowing it to come with a notch-less display. However, because of that, the phone is not IP certified, and that means it doesn’t have water and dust resistance.

Now, fresh details of the Oppo Find X’s successor, which might be called Oppo Find X, reveal some interesting information of the upcoming handset. For example, Oppo is reportedly planning to replace the sliding mechanism on the Find X and opt for the hole-punch display that has already been seen on the Honor View 20, Huawei Nova 4, and Samsung Galaxy A8s.
YouTuber MrWhoseTheBoss uploaded a new video talking about the forthcoming Oppo flagship. He claims that the handset is likely to come with a different design from its predecessor Oppo Find X and Oppo will also use some innovations on its camera to make the phone stand out in the mobile industry.
Those innovations include a camera with a variable aperture which is similar to what Samsung used on the last year’s Galaxy S9. The device is also rumored to come with a 10X hybrid optical zoom tech as well as a night mode. Moreover, MrWhoseTheBoss also reports that the Oppo Find X’s successor may also sport a ToF 3D camera.
Other features include the Oppo’s new on-screen fingerprint sensor, which the Chinese phone maker already teased a couple of days ago. This new fingerprint sensor is touted to have a bigger active area, 15 times larger than the current standard. It can even read two fingerprints at the same time.
The next Oppo Find X might not feature the 3D Face ID feature like on the current Oppo Find X because the handset reportedly comes with a hole-punch display so there would not be enough space to house an extra sensor for the Face Recognition feature. However, without the slide-out selfie camera, this upcoming device may now get IP certification for water and dust resistance.
As it should be an Oppo’s flagship, it is highly likely that it will come with Oppo’s SuperVOOC fast charging as well as support for wireless charging, considering the fact that recently, the Chinese phone maker joined the Wireless Power Consortium.
However, the handset might not be released in the recent feature as it is speculated to have the same release date as the Oppo Find X, which is around June.
