South Korean phone maker LG just submitted a new patent for a phone. We can see that there are basic sketches of a smartphone on the said patent. The handset appears to have a triple camera setup on both the front and the rear panel. The company registered the patent with the WIPO, and it went live on this Friday.

The smartphone in the above diagrams is shown to pack a triple camera setup on the front, and it is housed in a wide notch. The detailed specification for each of the camera is not revealed yet, but we believe there should be one standard camera, one ultra-wide shooter, and probably a third ToF unit. It might be exactly in that order, but given the inclusion of the ToF camera of the LG G8, this is highly the selfie camera setup on this upcoming phone.
With the design of the handset in the patent’s diagram, we suspect it might be the successor to the recently-launched LG V50 ThinQ that was announced a few months ago at this year’s MWC. Its back panel has a similar look to the LG V50 along with the triple rear camera setup placed horizontally. For now, we can’t see any difference between the design of this upcoming phone and the current LG flagships.

On the right side, you can see a power button along with a long microSD/SIM card tray. On the left side, there are also two separate volume buttons and a Google Assistant key. Similar to the LG V40 and LG G8, there is nothing at the top of the phone.
Besides the triple front camera, another notable difference is that the audio jack is nowhere to be seen. Does that mean the company will no longer offer the feature in its future smartphones? We are not sure as it is not confirmed yet and so is the phone availability.
