Recently, OnePlus has introduced its OnePlus 7T Pro several days after the launch of the OnePlus 7T. The OnePlus 7T comes with a lower price than the Pro variant. In the United Kingdom, the 7T is priced at GBP550, while the Pro model costs GBP700. In the European market, the price of the regular handset is EUR600, and the Pro model is EUR770. And in India, customers have to pay Rs. 37,999 for the 7T and Rs. 53,999 for the 7T Pro.

One of the highlights of the OnePlus smartphones is that the Pro variant is still more affordable than many comparable handsets from other competitors. However, this doesn’t mean you should buy the Pro model as the regular variant could meet your demand and has many similar features. So it is not necessary to pay more to own the 7T Pro. Now let’s take a look at key similarities and differences between the two models:

It is known that the Pro variant only arrives in Hong Kong, Europe, China, and India. So those in other markets will not be able to own the Pro model.

The Pro model flaunts a sharper display with a 1440p resolution compared to the 1080p display of the 7T. However, these panels do not show any difference. Not to mention, both smartphones come with similar fluid and smooth 90Hz display.  Apart from that, the display of the Pro variant is just 0.2 inches larger than the regular variant.

Although the 7T does not have a pop-up selfie camera or a full-view display like the Pro model, its notch is barely noticeable.

Both handsets run OxygenOS, a customizable and clean Android interface that is almost similar to the stock Android.

Both handsets have a nearly the same triple rear camera setup, but the Pro also comes with additional sensors.

Particularly, the Pro model comes with a laser lens for enhanced focusing. The zoom sensor of the phone can go up to 3X compared to the 2X zoom capability of the regular variant. Additionally, the 7T comes with a 12MP zoom sensor while the 7T Pro has an 8MP zoom sensor, helping to make up for the lower zoom range.

The 7T is 16g lighter than the Pro variant, which is quite substantial.

The Pro variant features curved edges surrounding the screen, which offer a great look. However, not everyone likes this design. Those who don’t like curved edges think the design will make the display feel narrower and is useless. On the other hand, fans of phones with display surrounded by curved edges will feel happy with the design of the 7T Pro.

The 7T Pro comes with 12GB RAM + 256GB internal storage while the 7T only has 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. The Pro variant is packed with a larger 4,085 mAh battery compared to the 7T’s 3,800 mAh cell. The other specs are quite similar.
