LG's Upcoming Flagship With 5G Support, Snapdragon 855 And Vapor Chamber To Launch Next Month

LG has confirmed it will show off its 5G smartphone at 2019 Mobile World Congress (MWC) with 5G support, Snapdragon 855 and vapor chamber.

LG has recently revealed that it will debut its upcoming handset in MWC 2019 event next month after its first teaser of a smartphone supporting 5G 5 months ago. Some main details about this forthcoming handset were also revealed in LG’s announcement.

Accordingly, LG’s next flagship will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 processor. This powerful chip reportedly delivers up to a 45% performance boost over the previous generation chip last year, Snapdragon 845. Due to the improved manufacturing process, the chip is much more efficient.

Also, LG will equip its upcoming device with a 4,000 mAh battery. Therefore, the device’s battery life could not be largely affected despite the increased consumption due to 5G support. LG stated that the upcoming handset’s battery is more than 20 percent larger than that of its LG V40 ThinQ (3,300 mAh).

The upcoming device’s last feature that this South Korean smartphone brand revealed was about its temperature. Particularly, this handset will have a vapor chamber which is 2.7 times larger than the LG V40 ThinQ’s heat pipe. Therefore, overheating issue due to the fact that 5G support releases much higher temperatures will be resolved.

Regarding the upcoming smartphone’s design, there has been no information revealed yet. But, the multiple comparisons of LG to its LG V40 ThinQ suggest that the upcoming device is perhaps the latter’s modified version. In any case, LG will use a battery with higher capacity and new vapor chamber for the next flagship completely handles the main concerns relating to 5G smartphones.

LG also carried out a survey with more than 1,000 customers in South Korea and the U.S. to satisfy their needs. As a result, the main focus of them is the “multimedia utility” of the smartphone.

In addition, LG will launch the first 5G smartphone in partnership with Sprint in the U.S this year. Meanwhile, in Europe, LG is currently cooperating with various operators to ensure availability.

Certainly, not everybody will have access to the 5G smartphone of LG, some are probably not interested even. Therefore, LG will also introduce its G8 ThinQ smartphone with 4G LTE technology at the upcoming MWC 2019. There is little information about this handset now, especially since this South Korean phone maker denied the recent renders’ accuracy. However, rumour has it that this high-end smartphone will come with a secondary display which could be attached or detached as an external case.
