LG K40S and K50S Announced With MIL-STD-810G Durability & HD+ Display

The LG K40S and K50S have just been unveiled ahead of the IFA 2019 event in Berlin. The company says that these two smartphones come with better camera setups, larger batteries, and better displays. They also come with an ultra-wide camera and MIL-STD-810G certified for durability. LG will also showcase the two phones during the IFA event from 6 September.
LG K40S and K50S: Price & Availability
The two new K40S and K50S will be offered in Latin America, Asia, and Europe from October. There are two color options available for both phones - Moroccan Blue and Aurora Black. However, the brand hasn’t revealed their official prices yet.
LG K40S and K50S: Specifications
The LG K40S sports a 6.1-inch FullVision display with HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Powering the phone is an octa-core processor, paired with 2/3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The name of the chipset hasn’t been revealed yet. It also comes with a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 2TB. Software-wise, it ships with Android 9 Pie at launch and features a fingerprint scanner at the back for security. In terms of camera, there is a dual camera set at the back, including a 13MP main sensor with PDAF and a secondary 5MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, it is equipped with a 13MP shooter for taking selfies and video calling.
Moving to the LG K50S, it packs a larger 6.5-inch FullVision screen with HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The K50S is also powered by the same yet-to-be-revealed 2GHz octa-core processor, which will be coupled with 3GB of RAM / 32GB storage. Just like the K40S, there will be a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 2TB. In terms of software, it will boot Android 9 Pie at launch and pack a beefier 4,000 mAh battery.
Camera-wise, it is equipped with a triple camera system, comprising of a 13MP main sensor with PDAF, a 2MP depth-sensing camera, and a 5MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies, it makes use of a 13MP shooter on the front. Just like its sibling, the LG K50S will come with a fingerprint scanner at the back for biometric security.
