Last month, a mysterious Vivo smartphone with the model number Vivo V1955A passed through 3C database. The listing revealed that the handset is a 5G smartphone with flagship-tier specifications. In addition, it was also spotted coming with a 55W fast charger. Rumor has it that the phone will be released in China as Vivo iQOO 3. However, all these are only rumors and speculations as Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO remains silent about it.
A few days ago, iQOO Director Gagan Arora confirmed that iQOO India is about to release a Snapdragon 865-powered smartphone in India, but he didn’t reveal the name of the handset. Now, the handset has also been listed on the TENAA database and Geekbench as well.
iQOO 3: Specifications
According to the TENAA listing, the iQOO 3 (iQOO V1955A) measures 158.51x74.88x9.16 mm and weighs 214.5g. It seems like the phone will be a bit thick and heavy. The listing also shows that the phone will be available in at least Black color variant. For now, there is no photo of the phone on the listing, but we expect to see one soon.
The display of the iQOO will be an AMOLED panel with a 6.44 inches in size, offering Full-HD+ (2,400 x 1,080p) resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Recently, its display was said to support a 60Hz refresh rate even though it is believed to be a gaming-centric smartphone. It is pre-installed with Android 10 to take care of the software side of things. It packs a 4,370 mAh battery that could support 55W fast charging standard, according to a previous report.
Powering the phone is an octa-core chipset with a 2.84GHz frequency, which seems to match the descriptions of the Snapdragon 865 SoC. It will be available in three RAM variants - 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB and two storage options - 128GB and 256GB. For optics, it will get a quad-camera setup at the back, including 64MP + 13MP + 13MP + 2MP sensors. On the front, the selfie camera is said to carry 16MP resolution.
Moving to the Geekbench listing, it has a different model number, Vivo l1927. It could be the Indian version of the Vivo iQOO 3. The handset also runs on an octa-core chipset with a 1.8GHz base frequency, but that is because Geekbench only records the speed of the small cores instead of the big ones. In addition, the chipset’s codename is ‘kona’, which is the same code name of the Snapdragon 865 SoC in other listings. Moreover, the handset is listed with Android 10 and 8GB of RAM.
