Huawei has currently been dealing with many issues in the United States in which the company is prohibited from selling its smartphones. But this Chinese phone maker is still performing well in the Chinese mainland and other markets like Europe. Huawei is also strongly increasing its presence in India in which the company targets to capture the OnePlus’s market share in the high-end smartphone segment. Huawei has already had its strategy here to reach the goals it announced.
It is known that Huawei has unveiled the P30/P30 Pro flagships in Paris and plans to bring these flagships to India in April. Then, Huawei will follow up with the launch of Mate X sometime in October this year.
Wally Yang, Huawei Consumer Business Group’s Senior Product Marketing Director in the interview with The Mobile Indian, said that the company was aiming at OnePlus's shares. He also said that in addition to OnePlus, Huawei had plans for other phone makers running their businesses in this country as well.
OnePlus was among the brands with the fastest growth rate in the segment of US$400 - US$600 worldwide in the third quarter of 2018, recently reported by Counterpoint Research. The UK, China, and India were three markets driving the maximum sales for the company. Meanwhile, Apple and Samsung are proving their dominance in the high-end segment. The report also cites some market insiders stating that the Huawei P20 has just had a good response.
Huawei P20
The smartphone is surely a quite complete solution in the higher-end market with camera highlights, however, its price is even higher than that of the Samsung Galaxy S9 smartphones. As for the Huawei P30 smartphones, if the company is able to get a bit aggressive, it could receive a better response.
