Huawei has been reportedly working on the new smartphones in the Huawei Nova series dubbed Huawei Nova 5 and Huawei Nova 5i. While the former has recently appeared in China’s 3C with model numbers SEA-AL10 and SEA-TL10. However, the 3C listing didn’t reveal much about the phone except the fact that it might come with a 40W charger included in the package. Now, the Huawei Nova 5 has made its appearance on the benchmarking platform AnTuTu with the model number GKL-LX3. The AnTuTu listing shows that the phone might boot Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9.1 and run on the Huawei’s Kirin 710 octa-core processor.
The phone achieved a benchmark score of 131,715 points in the AnTuTu test, which meets the expectations for its chipset. The option that surfaced AnTuTu comes with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage that can be further expanded. It is also listed with an FHD+ display and 2,310 x 1,080p resolution, though its display size is unknown. According to previous rumors, the Nova 5i might be the rebranded Huawei P20 Lite 2019 in several markets. The FCC certification hints that the smartphone might come in another variant with 128GB storage and a 4,000 mAh battery. That is all we know about the phone so far.
Moving to the Huawei Nova 5, it is tipped to have a Sony IMX 576 25MP selfie shooter. At the back, there might be a triple camera system with a Sony IMX 586 48MP camera, a Sony IMX 380 12.3MP camera, and a Sony IMX 316 ToF camera. Under the hood, it is powered by a 3,500 mAh battery and the Huawei’s flagship chipset, Kirin 980. On the front, there is expected to be a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel. In addition, the recently leaked case shows that the phone doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner on the back and that suggests that the phone might feature an on-screen fingerprint reader instead.
