Huawei just launched the Huawei P30 series in just more than a month, but we have already seen the first leak of the successor to the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, the Mate 30 Pro. The Huawei Mate series is expected to launch in the other half of the year with a new Huawei’s Kirin chipset. This new leak is from a Chinese website citing industry sources. It reveals some key specs and potential design of the Mate 30 Pro.
In terms of design, the source also shared a few photos of a mystery phone with a punch hole on its curved display. We can’t confirm if the device in the photo is a prototype or just a mock-up. In addition, it is said that Huawei will still work with BOE for the upcoming display panels on the Huawei Mate 30 Pro and its display size is said to be massive 6.71 inches. It is unknown whether the company will still keep the 3D face scan or not. However, the on-screen fingerprint scanner will undoubtedly be present.
On the camera front, the phone is said to feature the same rectangular design as the Mate 20 Pro. Moreover, it is surprising that the handset could still feature the same camera setup as its predecessor instead of coming with a periscope lens. The details of the camera are still kept hidden for now. Powering the phone is said to be the same 4,200 mAh battery as on the Mate 20 Pro. However, it will support a higher 55W fast charging solution which is better than the current 40W Super Charge on its predecessor. Moreover, it will likely be the first device to run on the more powerful and latest Kirin 985 SoC manufactured on the EVC process along with Baron 5000 for 5G support.
These are all details that we know about the handset for now. There are still 5 months left until its expected launch, so stay tuned, we will keep you updated.
