The upcoming Huawei Mate 30 Pro was spotted in the wild with a curved display, a wide notch, a USB Type-C port, and no headphone jack.

Upcoming flagship Huawei Mate 30 Pro has appeared in the public for the first time. Previously, only leaks of the front panel and the phone’s renders were spotted online. This is the first time the live photos of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro surfaces online.

Huawei Mate 30 Pro is considered as the flagship phone of the brand to take on the likes of other flagship smartphone rivals this year like Galaxy Note 10+, Google Pixel 4 and iPhone 11. The newly-leaked live image shows the device’s front design in spite of being covered by a phone case. But the rear panel of the phone is still not revealed, which leaves contradictory info about its camera setup.

A user shared the images to SlashLeaks, which reveals the phone’s front design. The previous leak suggested that the handset might have a wide notch like Huawei Mate 20 Pro, and now it is confirmed by the new live photo, which also proves the upcoming phone will actually have 3D Face recognition feature like its predecessor. However, this feature is tipped to be even more advanced in the upcoming handset.

In addition to the notch, the leaked images showed the phone’s curved sides. The curved sides indicate that the handset does not have any bezels on its sides. However, since the two phones are both covered by a protective case, we can't have a good look at their top bezel and bottom chin.

However, you can see that the device features a separate speaker grill at the phone’s bottom. It seemed to be a bad decision when Huawei hid the speaker of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro behind USB-C port. This time, the brand is likely to fix the issue with its upcoming Mate phone. Also, the images show a SIM tray near USB-C port. Besides, there is no 3,5mm audio found in the images.

The upcoming phone is tipped to sport a 90Hz super AMOLED screen. Under the hood will be a Kirin 985 SoC and the phone will come with a quad-camera setup on the back. As mentioned above, the real-life images of the phone’s rear panel haven’t been spotted yet. But the previous renders showed that the device will have a circular camera module on the back, which is different from the square camera bump found on its predecessor.
