Honor has recently filed patents for several trademarks for the successors to Honor 9X or the Honor X series including Honor 50X, 40X, 30X, 20X, and 10X.

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has not unveiled its latest Honor 9X smartphones series. However, the brand has decided the commercial name for its X smartphones series.

Recently, Honor has registered several trademarks for its upcoming X smartphones series in the world’s different intellectual property organizations including Honor 50X, 40X, 30X, 20X, and 10X. It is known that Honor 10X was trademarked in 2016 alongside Honor 9X, while the remaining monikers are registered in 2018.

Like what we can see in the Huawei Mate and Huawei P series’ trademarks, Honor may change its focus of branding to bigger letters after the introduction of the Honor 9X/9X Pro phones on 23 July.

It remains unknown when the brand has planned to unveil these phones, however, it will not be happening in only one year for sure. In addition, the registration for this series’ trademark actually aims to secure the lineup’s name.

For now, the attention is on the Honor 9X as the latest affordable series of the brand. It is known that the Honor 9X will be powered by a 7nm octa-core Kirin 810 chipset which has two 2.27GHz Cortex-A76 and six 1.88GHz Cortex-A55. As per the previous leak, the series will feature a pop-up selfie camera on the front. While the base Honor 9X will come with a 20MP selfie camera, the Pro variant’s front sensor will have a 24MP resolution. Additionally, the Honor 9X is tipped to have a vertically-aligned triple rear camera setup. Meanwhile, the Pro model will have an additional 48MP sensor. Both phones are expected to sport the same screen size of 6.6 inches. Also, it is known that the phone will run the latest Android version and be backed with a 3,750mAh battery.

Honor is scheduled to unveil the Honor 9X series in China on 23 July. So let’s stay tuned for more information in the coming time.
